Multiple times, the characters practically turned to each other and said “Tell me your backstory!” One time they fought over who would tell the other their backstory first. Way too much time was devoted to this; they aren’t even interesting backstories.

Oh the Places You’ll Go! is a terrible book to donate to a library. First, it’s far from Dr. Seuss’ best work. It’s not especially fun, clever, or visually interesting.

Where’s the recap for the season 4 premiere?

If you go to Account Settings from your user menu, you can change your Display Name back to Scrawler.

I just bought Kim Stanley Robinson’s The Years of Rice and Salt at a used book sale. I plan to start it soon, but the length, text size, and subject matter are a bit intimidating. Has anyone here read it, and can tell me it’s worth the effort?

Also, because the reviewer probably didn’t tag it correctly. It’s tagged only as “Recap”; most shows are also tagged with the show name. Of course, the tags don’t make much sense and aren’t generally visible to the reader, so that may not be the problem.

This absolutely should have been pinned or highlighted somehow. I missed the original post, and only came here to read the instructions because someone mentioned that they did the merge successfully.

It can be two things.

I thought the same thing.

The beach episode is the first Gilmore Girls episode I saw. I continued watching the show primarily for Paris.

Okay, so the problem isn’t that you don’t understand the job of a TV critic. The problem is that you don’t understand the concept of Internet discussions. (Unsolicited opinions? On the Internet? Oh my stars!)

This is a TV review site. Erik Adams is an actual critic. Reviewing TV shows is his job.

All the comments on that article are gone, since they were pre-Kinja. AV Club is going to rewrite and repost every FOC ever to increase page views. I’m waiting for a rewrite of the one about seapunk and Tumblr content producers!

Great article. I’m glad the AV Club can still have such high-quality writing, even after the recent changes.

My wife tried to convince me to watch Young Sheldon. (Prefacing it with “You’re not going to like this suggestion...”) She says it’ll be like The Wonder Years and not be at all like a Chuck Lorre show. I do not agree.

Also agree. The comment system has some flaws, but nothing that stops me from enjoying the site, and it’s actually better in a few ways. The layout is just unusable.

Trump claims to be a multi-billionaire. If that’s true, which it probably isn’t, then a donation of $1 million isn’t impressive at all. If he’s worth $3 billion, him donating $1 million is like someone who’s worth $3 million donating $1000, or someone worth $300,000 donating $100. It’s not a trivial amount of money,

They’re “Filed Under”. This is also filed “Accidental Ethics”.

My wife and I watched Goon while she was in labor, a couple hours before we went to the hospital. I might get around to seeing this eventually, if we have another kid.

For some reason, The Tick nailing Ramses with a thrown tire is my favorite moment of the show so far.
