On one hand, yes, Sony has a habit of announcing games years in advance and then showing us an endless number of trailers for them. (E3 2017 was basically a remake of E3 2016.) It can be exhausting.

I hear you. I’ve recommended this game to anyone that would listen. I’m taking my time and trying to admire all the details and I’m completely in love with it so far. I think too many people over-analyze the game factors instead of judging the product as a whole. The game screams high quality and completely nails…
Basic doesn’t mean bad. Yes it is basic (3 attacks - fast, strong, kick - dodge and block/counter) but forget bout queue of enemies. Oh hi Assassin’s Creed. You can fight with one enemy and two more will hit you in your head from behind without any warning. Well not exactly without warning, but you never know if…
You forgot Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. It comes out August 8th.
Wow, that’s some crazy, entitled bullshit right there.
Dan will remember that.
It’s almost as though it’s some kind of commentary on the pointlessness of collecting useless shit in video games...
Sometimes, we forget the joy of a straightforward game. I’m a person who loves RPGs but often gets intimidated by them (since I’m just gonna end up with shitloads of stuff I’m never gonna finish), so the idea of a real STORY is great to me.
No doubt, you should not withhold your opinion. You are, or course, a games journalist and your opinion is relevant as such.
In most contexts I would agree with you on the whole “Hey, don’t worry. It’s games” and I’m sure that everyone is going to form their own opinion on whether or not Dishonoured has character or charm.
While I appreciate that a review is a subjective assessment and that “charm” or “character” is certainly within the eye of the beholder, TimChaos raises a pretty valid point here. While it may not be to your liking, it’s hard to ignore the impressive worldbuilding on display here, and I do feel like you’re being a…
I really don’t get the “lack of charm” complaint. I think the opposite is true—Serkonos, and Dunwall before it, positively ooze personality. It’s dreary, yes, but not uninteresting or boring. I’m downright baffled by the assertion that the series is uninteresting.
My god did he ever do a great job with this character. I mean yeah, it’s exactly the same as his Fisk, but holy shit does that work for the character. The way he stumbles through every sentence, delivering every syllable as if it’s an immense struggle. He sounds like he’s simultaneously dying and immeasurably annoyed.
.
He’s trying to collect all the Chaos Emeril.
aw man, you got cool looking daft punk boba fett. I’ve only found these buff bull/lizard things.

I’ve never seen this and it’s incredible.
I guess I shouldn’t be shocked someone made a Destiny version of that gif, but man is it way better than I ever thought it would be.
