waa??

Yeah but I recall seeing spy pics of a v10 NSX in like 2008 and a mid-engined Corvette in 1993. It ain’t real until you can buy it.

I thought it wasn’t leaks but crash safety and all the side impact airbags that made these less common these days?

If it ain’t a military vehicle, it ain’t a hummer. This is a stupid branding exercise that is distracting from the actual product itself. Headline should be GM 1000hp electric targa SUV, not Hummer which now just invokes tacky fake chrome grilles slapped on a spiced up Suburban platform driven by garbage people who

Yep. The infrastructure spending is going to be considerable no matter what. but if this is also a mechanical device that telescopes in/out of the ground... the maintenance costs are going to be ridiculous. If they just make it a fixed point/bollard like an US style parking meter, they sidestep a whole set of new

Hopefully everyone’s feeble attempts at schooling their own kids during COVID will make them realize that: HOLY SHIT I NEED TO PAY MORE IN TAXES SO TEACHERS CAN MAKE MORE BECAUSE THEY’RE FUCKING INDISPENSABLE TO OUR SOCIETY AND ANY HOPE OF A FUTURE. Rather than the usual bitching about taxes being a waste etc

Hoping that’s the case. 2021 is just around the corner! Would make a great alternative to some of the cheap but interesting jdm stuff. That said, prices seem to always jump a ton for interesting non-US market cars once the 25 year rule comes into effect for them

“I am famished from sex! I will capture and cook some food for myself and my mating partner!” Sunday funday

If your dash or door can’t handle some feet, you should get rid of the car not the person. If you’re the component in this which can’t handle it... well... therapy might be a healthy choice

Same. But the Europa will shock you even still. At 5ft 11 I feel like a giant trying to get into a fisher price car. Meanwhile I fit in an NA miata with the top up comfortably.

Your right. But I don’t have a quarter mil for a Dino so... Yeah fuck the looks, it’s a tool for driving not a piece of art to hang on a wall. It delivers a driving experience that punches way above the asking cost. If it was prettier, it would cost a hell of a lot more and we would be dreaming about affording them

Not over here, unfortunately. We only got the 2nd gen and nowadays even the absolute worst 2nd gen examples (tons of miles, accident history) are in the high $20k range. Which is a bummer considering you could get a really nice one with medium miles for the same price 5 years ago. But that’s all before the COVID

It’s a little off in styling, but I love a car that makes we want to put thousands of miles on it, not stare at it in the garage... and these are phenomenal fun for the money. It’s a driving experience you really cannot replicate at almost any cost... IF you can fit inside. This is the big rub. These make NA miata

Correct. Inflation calculators are dumb. The best calculation would be how much cars cost as a percentage of income after cost of housing and student debt payments are taken out. I’d bet cars would be a lot more expensive now than then, relatively speaking.

Man... while I really like these on some level... they really fall apart when you really start driving them hard. After having an e36, I tried one of these and found it to just feel heavy and lacking in feel by comparison. Wiht the correct tires they have a lovely neutral balance, but they just don’t drive like they

Yeah but what if they enjoy driving? These both (while superficially attractive) are like driving marshmallows down the road

I pay nothing for these sites and I like that they exist. If we all ran ad block they would not exist. Suffering through ads is a cheap price to pay to keep the writers we actually enjoy employed. I feel the same about youtube.

All these things that turn you off are precisely what turn me on about convertibles. Subjectivity, it’s a thing

Who cares what other people do? Do what you want. He wants a convertible, he should do it. Convertibles are great. I used to rip my miata up and down appalachian backroads in 30 degree weather with the heat blasting. It was awesome. I can’t imagine how great it would be to live in a place where a convertible is
