The Fluco leather options are great for the money. There are a fair number of watch band sellers out there (some pretty well known) that are selling rebranded Fluco straps at like $80-$100 a pop with their own buckle. I find the surface texture on the Barton silicone bands rubs off after a few months of heavy use, but

You should be less mad at the boomer-bashers here and more mad at the greed at the core of HD’s board. That greed is going to kill this American icon, not internet commenters. They are stewards of this American icon, they need to make decisions in its best interest, not just in the best interest of the stock price

This seems to work for me better than anything else, but it still aint great since I have a big nose and air has a much easier time traveling up than through the mask or even down. Big nose problems arise again.... and I thought I had crushed all those insecurities back in highschool

HA! But the difference is that once in a while you can find an honest seller who has real/solid maintenance history. Dealers throw that carefully organized records binder in the dumpster the minute someone trades in a car and do not give a fuuuuuck

Acknowledging that so much about how we buy cars and how we look at them from a financial perspective makes zero sense is not incompatible with being an enthusiast. I’m just being realistic about what cars are. Irrational purchases are totally fine if you know that’s what you’re doing and you do so willingly. I just

Great point about Tesla QC and wanting to see one in person, definitely something that needs to be accounted for in whatever system we shift to for selling cars in the future. I’m incredibly heartened to know that Toyota is adapting and that this experience is now available at their dealers (not sure if widespread or

My thoughts exactly. Especially on taxis and uber. I may lament the loss of newspapers and the types of journalism they housed, but you can’t change which way the wind is blowing

No stealing needed, spread the word of pragmatism far and wide. We’ve lost it somewhere along the way

This argument doesn’t really make any sense to me. If a local dealer can make money by being there, so can a manufacturer. If there is no local Ford dealer, people aren’t going to buy Fords there. Ford loses too. It’s not like there are going to be car deserts where no one can buy cars. This simply will not happen.

Some places it isn’t! Which is crazy. This was threatening a lot of the dealer ownership groups, so they lobbied like hell at the state level to get laws changed. Weirdly, this seems to be most common in the right leaning “free market” states like TX where I grew up. Everyone loves a free market until someone shows up

Right? The whole idea of relationship car buying is so incredibly antiquated or at least relegated to very expensive niches where good customers get first access to the latest greatest multi hundred $k sports car

I totally get what you’re saying but here’s the thing: I can’t trust myself on a test drive. Human brains work strange and aren’t really rational. A short period of time on roads I don’t know, with a salesperson yammering in my ear aren’t going to tell me much about a car. I can’t tell you how many times I

I’m 100% with you. The irony here is that many of these same dealers and states who are getting screwed by needing a “wet signature” and struggling to sell cars in this environment are the exact organizations/states who fought Tesla’s dealer/distribution model tooth and nail. To them I say: Adapt or die. Fighting

I don’t think the Koenigsegg and Bugatti are anything other than peers. The Bugatti is incredibly refined but boring aside from the fact is has a 16 cyl engine. The Koenigsdozeneggs are among the most interesting to because they at least come completely from left field and are forced to innovate because they don’t

The 570 is the only compelling car to my eye. It’s has a simplicity that the others are lacking, it’s MORE than fast enough, and it is a reasonable price considering the shared architectures with all the vastly more expensive models. The P1 is a huge disappointment. It was a half hearted effort IMHO. The fact that a

$155k!!! There are so many EXCITING, life affirming cars at that price. Any 911. A GT3!!!! A 911 Turbo. Cayman GTS. Cayman GT4! R8. Used McLaren 570. NSX. AMG GT which are boring looking but are borderline supercars. Aston Martin Vantage! BMW is delusional. This thing is a 6 series at best.

So right. Their whole model lineup is a mess and they are doing nothing to differentiate models and justify higher premiums. It’s almost like they just use a scale slider to make the same cars bigger and smaller. The 8 series doesnt even look more “luxurious” inside or out than the 6 series did... and it’s not sports

Right? I almost did a spit take when they described it as a “halo car.” If they really think that is the case, then BMW has lost understanding of it’s own brand forever. What a joke.

Things would have shut down naturally on their own as people panicked. Inevitable. Even with the current semi-shut down we had more than 80k infected yesterday and that number would have been worse without if we just went on with life as normal (I don’t see how anyone could possibly claim otherwise). Viral spread is

Nah, the $1200 checks will get people out of the house and onto dealer lots buying cars. And then to the movies and maybe even out to a restaurant, high-fiving all the way. $1200 bucks solves all our problems
