I don’t think this is being done to poke Trump, that’s a huge oversimplification and frankly an over-politicization of the situation. Europe is moving the same direction we were with the Obama era regulations, and CA is continuing upon that arc but relaxing the timeline to make achievement more realistic based on the

Feel free to rebut him and not just stand in the back of the room making fart noises and thinking that’s a worthwhile contribution to the discussion.

Bingo. If people are defaulting on these leases/loans at a high rate, then maybe the real investigation should be about predatory lending practices to buyers who are not qualified.

Bingo. Besides all the obvious technical faults, caps become unenforceable quite quickly. Half of what an F1 engineer does is figure out how to get around rules or exploit them as fully as possible. Cost caps would lead to larger accounting depts that set out to do the very same thing with the caps.

The thing that no one talks about is the immense amount of $ teams spend on developing their own wheel guns and wheel nuts, etc in the hope of knocking off 1/10 sec off a pit stop. Standardization on that sort of peripheral thing would not hurt racing in any way and would slightly bring down costs. Or at least allow

That said, writing letters and holding up signs is better than diverting their eyes and just “minding their own business”

It’s fundamentally the same concept except for intentionally inducing oversteer on entry on gravel vs trailing the brakes down to the apex. If you want to maximize the friction circle on tarmac, then you should really try and make a decreasing radius line for yourself down to most apexes. Increasing steering angle as

There’s definitely some degree brand loyalty in any group (or maybe it’s just due to a comfort factor stemming from familiarity), but there’s 100% mutual respect across all marques with the track rats!

Amen! I remember looking at a Porsche brochure and price list I took home from the Houston Auto-show in like 1996 (I think I was 14). Literally every option was listed out and individually selectable. Leather wrapped radio volume knob? $125. Leather wrapped a/c vents? $225. Only want the driver’s side seatbelt

Man, that’s fucking heavy. I can see how it could be of value as a piece of art to that person. And I could see how the art could impact them on a deeper emotional level as a reminder of what can happen to you in life and what is important in life. I could envision how seeing that every morning as a Jewis person could

Yep. Fight or flight is what people like to talk about, but the most common reflex is the third option of just doing what you have to do to survive. Fight and you’ll probably die. Noble death, but death no less. Flight and you lose everything. So many people let the current take their bodies, while internally they

Yup. If you find yourself in Germany and like to shun anything associated with Nazis in any way, you’re going to have a hard time getting across the country without using the Autobahn or any other piece of infrastructure those dirty fuckers put in place. While you’re at it, don’t think too deeply about the jet powered

Sheeeeiiiit, I can’t afford to lose $30k to depreciation by purchasing a new Porsche. I take mine old and depreciated, as god intended.

HAHAHA

*hackneyed hyperbole

Yup. Road courses are the only ones I tune in for. The cars actually don’t make much downforce, and are relatively softly spring, so you really get to see them move around. I’d would absolutely love to see about a dozen road races each year.

you must have fine grained thigh muscle control. I find you can be pretty blunt with the throttle blip, but where I need the fine grained control is on the brake pedal and how I roll into it, modulate peak and then roll out of it as I trail down to an apex. I just am not good enough to do that with big leg muscles.

You must not have abs. Or you must have good abs. My 03 996 cant just be mashed, you have to modulate right up against the abs but not let it get into it because abs can make the pedal feel a little unpredictable. I also have to modulate how I roll into the brakes so the abs doesn’t engage on one axle before weight

I think he means downshifting and rev matching during braking while operating clutch and brake simultaneously with your left foot while blipping throttle with your right foot to match revs. Not doing it all separately while slowing down for a stop light
