Does the 3LT automatically upgrade to the z51 package? The article doesn’t state so, just mentions more interior leathery bits and lux features as standard.

Yes, because Porsche are just taking the radio out and putting in fabric door pulls and charging an extra $45k. lol. I know they did that once in the early 90s, but that was a very long time ago. You don’t see people running around saying the only real Corvette is one with a blue flame inline six, buecause Chevy did

I’d get a Supra over this if it had a manual trans. I think this thing is far too large, the Supra at least is a manageable size. I’m literally going to buy an M2C over this for the two reasons above. IDK that the C8 offers way more performance. Cars are way too fucking fast these days anyways

Don’t hate marketing or sales. Hate the idiots that react negatively to a car priced at $60k but feel different about $59,995. Sales and marketing aren’t doing this just for shits and giggles. They are literally trained by consumer behavior to do so.

What’s good about it?

It’s fairly easy to drop the engine out of a 986 Boxster, no idea how much of that ease is intact after the kit.

Can’t wait to see a watered down version of this hit production in 2029.

The M2 is well over 50% manual take rate. Says BMW.

Yeah the M2 is merely OK. The non-comp version is actually classed pretty OK for SCCA autox too. It’s a close but no cigar kind of car. Looks great on paper in terms of power, size and 3 pedals, but it’s bizarrely heavy, makes artificial noises, offers nothing in the way of steering feel and other tactile feedback.

I wish cities would be more incentivised to put in EV charging infrastructure. Maybe it’s different out on the west coast. Here it seems that the priority is being placed on getting as many cars of any kind out of the city itself in lieu of expanded bike and bus lanes.

“parking lot outside my office” as someone who lives and works in DC, I am unfamiliar with that concept. There are no parking lots outside of offices unless your office is out in a burb. And most people working there are commuting from another burb. So really they are the target demo, not people like me actually

I guess it’s different strokes for different folks. To me it looks like a re-framing of what a “city car” needs to actually look like. It yielded great visibility, really airy and pleasant passenger compartment, super compact overall size, and some really interesting and pleasant (imo) interior material options. My

Yeah... This is specifically the kit I was thinking about. I know someone who thought a renegade kit would be a simple solution for his 996 when the engine went poof. 2 years on and he’s still sorting out issues and he’s spent more than $13k at this point. Could have had a dealer rebuild based on a Porsche remanufactur

They need to stop building electric cars designed for us “hipster, coffee drinking city dwellers” or whatever because 1) it’s faster to bike or take public transportation and 2) there’s nowhere fucking charge these things that doesn’t completely disrupt your week.

Stretching it would make it harder to park in cities purely for aesthetic reasons. Part of what is good about the car are its compact dimensions.

I always liked the i3 because it wasn’t another blah brick with fake vents and other tacked on “styling features” like nearly every other car out there. It looked like an actual piece of design and not simple a series of crash constraints and corner cutting for costs that yielded some kind of automobile.

Well those savings better be huge, because it means they are getting zero of my money now. Been eyeing M2C, used 997.2, 981 Cayman, all with 3 pedals. Was waiting for final details on the Supra before making a choice. I find the new Supra far more appealing than an M2, but a manual is a must. It’s off the list. I’m

I dunno man, I think it’s both the best looking BMW and the best looking Toyota on sale right now.

I’ve always heard more people laughing about wails from theoretical purists than I’ve ever heard actual purists wailing.

Hell yeah man! Stay safe and I wish you many more years of using them as they are intended!
