So... no change then?

Not this pedantic argument again

Yup. There are tons of people who fall all over themselves to have the “New Corvette” whenever it comes out. This is the “never seen rain” crowd with tire shine on the sidewalls and probably on the shiny black dashboard too, and about 7000 miles on the odometer. They’ll eat this shit up no matter how good/bad it is. I

But their values did stop falling as fast, so that’s something. 718 sales are reaaaal slow right now. Their used prices (sale, not asking price) are a screaming bargain

Stupid fast yet stupid ugly... So you’re it’s following precisely in the footsteps of everything from the C5 onward?

Corvette always gets badge hate, this is beyond that. There are purists who think it won’t be a Corvette if has a mid-engine, and sure I get that on some tin historic argument... But at the same time, it’s just a fuckin car. Who gives a shit. It’s not like front engine/rear drive is a unique layout defines the identity

Personally I think the hard top Z4 is one of the better BMWs you can currently buy. I kinda want it more than an M2. Then again, I think the fast and furious movies are stupid movies for stupid people

The last two races have been phenomenal. Brownell underrates this race, it was fucking great to have Max and Leclerc going at it for something ike 18 laps. Meanwhile just oahead of this, Hamilton was in full attack mode on Bottas and was unable to get it done. The Safety car saved his ass and screwed Bottas. It was a

The first sting ray was the C2, if I recall correctly. The C1 originally had a blue flame I6, not even a v8 and was just a sporty runaround, not a giant killer by any stretch of the imagination.

It’s looking like I’ll be in that same boat in 31 years with my 2003 996 C2. It’s subtly sharpened and optimized in ways that have made it the perfect car for me and my use case. Unless the engine blows so much that I get sick of rebuilding it, this one is a forever car.

Doesn’t seem so much like a problem so much as simply the way the world works

I think autonomous simulated fans would be great, saves actual humans from the bore of having to watch this crap

Yes. And based on this, each team could literally calculate what lap time they would achieve, making the racing pretty much pointless. You can also calculate the delta required to make a pass, so that can be calculated too. The passing would only be tricky if the rules of racing regarding how many moves you can make

At the very least, we should get them megaphones so they don’t have to try and scream and point at sealed submersibles. Those dudes heard precisely 0% of what he was saying, through that hull and over the sounds of both crafts engines and the ocean itself.

Translation aside, I find anyone who is frantically screaming and pointing at a sealed and semi-submerged, motor powered craft from their own motor powered craft, to be hilarious. Get that man a megaphone or tell him to save his breath, sounded like he might have an aneurism.

Can confirm, here in DC it happens all the time. Honestly it’s less of a wild ass studio54 party drug like it used to be and more of a “Im tired AF from working 24/7 and just need the energy to go out and hit some bars for a fairly normal Friday night.”

I said successful sport, not niche sport.

Yup. Im convinced that downforce, as it’s employed today, has actually ruined racing.

Right? The FIA is very forgiving these days and seems to make mole hills out of mountains. Penalty and move on. I love a good clandestine racing story

This is the first interesting argument I’ve seen on this thread. I think the lack of downforce/aero as the dominant factor on how motorcycles achieve their speed is the big difference. Lack of aero allows for closer racing and the motorcycles moving around a little more on their tires, which adds so much to the racing
