A better solution would be to support a robust social safety net which elected GOP leaders hate way more than disarming the public. That’s the problem gun advocates face. No politician is truly on their side.

DeSantis is polling really well nationally after his handling of the COVID crisis. Staying open cost a lot of lives, but the reality is that Americans are selfish and have a short memory. That he kept open “the economy” now shines much more brightly than depressing death numbers almost a year ago.

I love the mentality of these groups. They need to have better firearm safety and legal knowledge, but their visible, assertive presence in the gun rights debate is much needed and long overdue. There have been several negligent discharges of weapons at their events which risk undermining their activism.
