They are very much the Lions of the South.

You must also admire their Lions-like commitment to wasting careers of players who were regarded as the one of the few very best at their position in the league for a time (Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, Mario Williams, JJ Watt...).

my buddy was sent to Houston for a year as a part of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. When I applied for a job in Houston I asked him about it and his response was “our entire group made a promise to one another that we’d never let each other live in Houston.” I withdrew my application.

As a Lions fan I am forced to similarly point out that the Texans have won one playoff game in seventeen years. The Lions last playoff win came ten years before the Texans were born.

As a Lion’s fan I envy the Texans identity as a perennial first round playoff knockout team.

It’s Matt Flynn all over again, just less healthy

John Lynch take those pedestrian numbers, and raise you  5 yrs / $137m

Vegetables are sensual. People are sensuous.

It ain’t the media that gave him $137 million.

Eh, Mitch Trubisky made a Pro Bowl. Hell, you probably made a Pro Bowl at sometime and they just forgot to tell you.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

Matt Cassell actually made a pro bowl in KC. Yes, I’m shocked to hear that too.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

+1 double secret probation

Everyone went so crazy over the 5-0 start for Jimmy in SF that they overlooked the pedestrian TD/INT ratio (7-5) and his penchant for taking big hits (he did the same in NE in his second start which is why the Pats had to start Brissett for the last two games of Brady’s suspension).

Mr. Blutarsky, has no grade point average .......

Sad for Jimmy, but this is great. Every time one of his former backups who played wonderfully in NE turns into a pumpkin elsewhere, Tom Brady chews a pair of Kraft’s slippers.
