Kansas City has a very nice NHL quality arena and was within about a week of landing the Coyotes about 2 years ago (a local investor backed out at the last minute). No idea if the city is still a viable option or not.

I don't know if it's a man or a woman, but it sure has the voice of a Stanford grad down pat.

I was originally just eye-rolling this comment until I looked up at the screen name. Very, very, well played.

Let's assume you're correct about what rights you do and don't have. I mean this very sincerely: Just because you can, should you? There are plenty of other ways to protect yourself other than to have assault rifles, large ammunition clips and the virtually unfettered ability to buy all of them in person or online.

Remember when Michael Vick killed a few dogs and nearly everyone was ready to have him put away for the rest of his life, regardless of his upbringing, financial issues, abuse issues, etc. etc.?

I think I read it here yesterday, but wasn't there a rumor that she had previously left the home with their daughter for a period of time and was telling folks how much money she was going to collect for child support? Seems to me that that "financial issues" could mean that, instead of meaning that he was out of

"Deadly domestic violence is more prevalent in the US than other like countries... and this sort of violence is overwhelmingly carried out by the white (or perhaps wealthier classes) and by guns."

Yeah, I don't mean to pretend to dictate what you should be feeling, but I wonder if we're mistaking "feeling sorry for someone" for "being sad about a situation". I could certainly get on board with the latter.

I'm all in favor of trying to figure out what happened and trying to prevent it in the future (probably impossible, but worth the effort to try). There's a difference between doing it because you're an asshole and being an asshole because you did it. I'm asserting the latter.

Agreed. About six weeks ago, this exact same situation occurred in KC and the focus was, correctly, on the victim and her family (what will happen to the little girl, what can we do for the grandparents). Nobody shed a tear for the murderer or tried to undertand his motivations. It was, correctly in my mind, viewed

No shit, asshole. Let's see how many articles we can write trying to add some creative nuance to the fact that the guy is a murderer. Lets look at how many articles and websites have a headline "Chiefs Player Commits Suicide".

Wonder if the the girl he murdered was a nice person too?

Crime scene at the practice facility was closed pretty quickly. Not much to investigate.

It was outside the management offices, which are near the practice facility. That's on the northwest side of the sports complex and pretty out of the way of game day activities. According to the police, the crime scene there was taken down in the last hour or so (not much to investigate). Still an open crime scene at

"RIPJovan"?!?!

I can see both sides, but I think there's something to be said for the "Fuck that guy" approach to going forward with your life.

It is when the person who kills himself gets what's coming to him.

This seems inappropriate

I'd love to find the early-90s black & white hockey commercials they made, but have never had much luck.

Meh, give it a few days and the resemblance will be more obvious.
