Worked with a bloke who was on the 2nd unit for Street Fighter.

God, ‘Street Fighter’ was some wild shit behind the scenes. JCVD doing mountains of cocaine and banging Kylie Minogue, fight training done on the fly because of changes to the shooting schedule, Raul Julia dying of cancer and yet somehow giving the role 1000%.

Since we’re stretching the definition of forgettable here, I’ll submit what is to me the greatest line in cinema history, delivered brilliantly by the great William Fichtner in Armageddon

The best part about that line from Snakes on a Plane is that it was added in a re-shoot and based on an internet meme.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. I don’t mean to date myself buy I saw this movie when I was under 10 and that line singlehandedly taught me how evil actually works. If one cared that much about all the evil they did they would be too busy sobbing to be evil enough to do that much evil.

We’re really calling Taken a “middling” action movie? The sequels, sure. But the first one is one of the better action films of the last 20 years.

You’re calling “The Court Jester” a forgettable movie?!?

I don’t want to get too serious, but I’m not sure that M. Bison’s ““For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday,” doesn’t, in some offhand way, say something profound about the nature of evil. I assume that M. Bison killed people on the reg, and if you

I just keep bringing up all the other awards they’ve received whenever I start to feel the white hot piss boiling in my brain over this Emmy bullshit.

I wish I could be. But not when it deserves sooooo many more.

She is pitch perfect as a tough on the outside softie. I came into the show thinking she was going to be fun but kinda one note but holy shit are there layers! (Which is a credit to her and the writing both.)

Abso-fucking-lutely. I love Olivia Colman to pieces, have done since her stuff with Mitchell & Webb/Peep Show, but FFS she’s in like one fucking scene in The Bear! The episode doesn’t need her AT ALL. Whereas Deer Lady doesn’t work without Horn.

I get that complaining about The Bear’s placement isn’t cool, and I understand both “dramedy” and “30 minute format” arguments, but I’ll be curious to see what happens next season.

I’ll take anything. God, that show was such a gem. I've rarely seen a show manage to create a whole, lively town like The Simpsons, only in fewer episodes than one of their seasons.

I 100% agree and really have no idea why they weren’t nominated. Considering their backgrounds (not just the Native/First Nations thing, but how they got into acting, etc.) they’re punching so insanely above their weight that it seems...well, fucking criminal to not give them a nom. At least give Carol Burnett or one

Wow. Fucking nonsense with the Bear in the face of the VASTLY SUPERIOR Rez Dogs. Olivia Colman, who I love, was in a total of maybe 5 minutes of The Bear. (I’m not gonna argue Jamie Lee. She was insanely good.) Tiio Horn kicks the shit out of it in the Deer Lady episode of Rez Dogs. You already have Jamie Lee in for

How many awards is The Bear going to steal from actual comedies this year?

Agreed. Both Elora and Willie Jack were great this season.

I feel like Devery Jacobs and Paulina Alexis should have gotten noms. No offense to D’Pharoah, but if he was strong enough to get a nom, so were the ladies. Willie Jack and Elora were very strong characters, especially in the final season

Only two in the “major categories” and a few in the minor, and it won’t beat some of the really heavy hitters...but at least it got something! We take the w’s.
