Okay, I really love this interpretation.

I’m honestly surprised there aren’t more movies that do this sort of thing!

Or Moon Knight, for that matter?

I’ve been saying this same thing for a while (mostly over on io9), but you’ve just said it better and more succinctly. Everything just feels rudderless now.

if you eat the same thing every day you’re eventually gonna get sick of it, regardless of how well prepared it is.

Yeah, how bad his movie have become definitely seems like its directly proportional to how much creative control he’s been given, that’s for sure.

Oh, yeah! I forgot I could do that. Thanks, Dr. Lizardo!

Yeah, honestly I think Pete Doctor’s making an incorrect assumption here. I think the movie’s failure had more to do with (1) an inconsistent and uninspired ad campaign, and (2) people figuring they could just skip seeing it in theaters and wait for it to arrive on Disney+.

Honestly, we kind of already got an example of what type of Buzz Lightyear movie Andy would have fallen in love with, and that’s the opening to Toy Story 2! (Sure, it turned out to be a video game, not a movie, but the vibe was still the same)

How would he do that, though, without air? IS THERE AIR!? WE DON’T KNOW!!! (holds breath)

Ah, well.

Honestly, I’ve been hoping for Zack Snyder to come out of nowhere with a great movie for over a decade, because I’d love for him to make another movie that’s as solid as his Dawn of the Dead remake!

That’s hilarious. Also, remind me to never assign Zack Snyder to pilot the Enterprise. We’d never get anywhere!

...no, really. I’m so exciiiiiiiiiiiiited.

Oh, I getcha. Yeah, that seems fair.

Ooh! Good pull. I totally agree.

Throw in someone asking “Where are the cheet-oh’s?” and I think we have the perfect button.

Maybe if the movie had utilized a Princess Bride-style framing device, where Andy shows the movie to his kids or something, and then featured that in all the trailers, audiences would have had an easier time getting behind it.

Ha ha! Yeah, I’ve got a similar relationship to social media. Even knowing that I could probably have more direct communications with the more-approachable Youtubers I follow still gives me pause, because I don’t trust myself to not be annoying.

Okay, I’ll always admit when I’m convinced, and right now? You’ve convinced me.
