Yeah, sometimes you can really tell when some people don’t really venture outside of genre fare, huh? Arguing with a straight face that, not only should Emily Blunt have been nominated for A Quiet Place, but you were surprised to realize she hadn’t been nominated REALLY had me questioning the versatility of the

Personally, I’m glad they went for the “evil cult” cliché with this one, because having it turn out that she was just spiraling over nothing would feel, to me, like it was invalidating her hard experiences.

You know who I’m convinced could have also pulled it off? Gerard Johnstone.

I know it’s a move away from the thoughtful characters he’s been gravitating toward lately and seemingly a step back toward the hulking brutes he was originally typecast as, but... I would KILL to see him play Conan.

I prefer Alfred to be representative of Batman’s wiser, kinder and more diplomatic influences, as well. Both Gough and Michael Caine captured that in their own way. I don’t know why Battle Alfred has gained so much traction.

As always, Louie, your analysis is top-notch.

(Bale might be a better Batman but a worse Bruce, Keaton might be a better Bruce but not as good at Batman)

Well, to be fair, that clown doll is pants-shittingly terrifying.

The current logo seems designed to evoke the one from the early ‘70s, which despite being associated with some decent comics, is not that great.

the AI-centric VFX company Metaphysic said it was partnering with production company Miramax for the upcoming movie Here, directed by Robert Zemeckis...

What you have just described is basically the plot to M3gan.

Regé-Jean Page? Dan Stevens? Some... other likely British actor (since that seems to be the only way Hollywood knows how to cast Bruce Wayne anymore?)

Yeah, it’s amazing how each iteration of the DC logo has gotten progressively more bland. I always liked the “bullet” logo because it kinda looks like a poker chip.

How there has been 45 years of Superman being in movies, and we still have not gotten a version of Brainiac onscreen yet is something I will never, ever understand.

The lighting on each person doesn’t even try to make them look like they’re in the same location.

Oh, I know some Yellowjackets fans that will be severely depressed if that one gets cut... (and as an avid appreciator of Melanie Lynskey, I’ll be pretty put-out, too)

Oh, I know. There’s really no workable sales pitch on why having kids is somehow “better” than not having kids. I just wanted to poke some fun at my own expense.

I dunno, my kids have definitely aided in draining the youth out of me, but I feel like the tradeoff is that (1) I have two wonderful people that I’m honored to help mentor into hopefully being better than the world they were born in, and (2) turns out, life is too goddamn long anyhow, so anything that passes the time

Yeah, that makes sense. Memory is funny that way. It’s so context-sensitive, so I can totally see how the timing could mix someone up.

I mean, maybe if Roiland had actually listened to his Poopybutthole, he might not have doubled-down on being a creep. Ooo-wee.
