My initial reaction to this is: You should respond to an offer in whatever way serves your best interest, and do whatever you can to preserve or delay giving a reply until you know what all the options are.

I feel like this is phases... Kids who are in Kindergarten through maybe 4-5th grade, I don’t think they need to be overburdened with a ton of homework. I DO think that it’s good to get them started on good study/work habits.

I have a fairly old NAS from Qnap, and they provide fairly frequent firmware updates that typically include only security updates. So hopefully they’ll be addressing this for all units that still are on this update cadence...

You know, my parents subconsciously taught me to “fear” money. We didn’t have it, we didn’t talk about it, we didn’t want to owe it... I don’t think it was their intention, but it didn’t prepare me for dealing with finances. 

Why is it such a major deal to run wires?

Hasn’t the current climate of auto purchasing taught you anything? People financing cars for 6+ years? They don’t care about the ultimate impact, they want the new hotness and they want it now. So while the reality of this is awful, I’m sure that this gives a lot of people an “I can get a new car boner”. 

Understand that while some people repair cars because they love cars, love does not pay the rent. Labor rate + hours + parts... be realistic about how much to pay for a repair.
