I always took “I was a child” to be metaphorical; young adult or so. But considering who wrote this article, I think we’re lucky Indiana Jones isn’t being called a rapist in every sentence.

It has become pretty damn tiresome at this point. 

Being a justice oriented person - and understanding that we all have privilege and blind spots we carry around with us, I have to admit I’m getting a bit fed up with some of the AV Club’s editorial decisions.

I never took “I was a child” to mean that she was literally a child, but just that Marion was a college-age teenager (say, 18 or 19), and he was 8 or 10 years older.  So she still felt like a kid in comparison to him, the older man.

Ray Liotta and Brendan Fraser in the same movie? Talk about a showdown of two guys who shoulda had way better careers. Hope this leads them to more/better stuff. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed Fraser in Doom Patrol.

And yet the AV club explicitly called her a KKK princess with a racist past. Your pathetic attempt at backtracking doesn’t undo the damage to her reputation, and this unnecessary apology doesn’t vindicate you. I still hope she sues for defamation and wins.

After 20 years of reading this site I guess it’s finally time to come to terms with the fact that it’s turned to shit. So long and thanks for all the outrage bait.

Yeah, I had removed AV Club from my feed after that first bullshit story...reinstated it just yesterday, figured the good outweighed the bad...but now with the ’finally’.  And Barsanti to boot. The. Worst.

AVClub really showed its colors with these last few articles.  Dear lord, wrap this thing up and flush it down the toilet.
