The Intruder Within, from 1981, is a more contemporary Alien rip-off featuring a monster dredged up on an oil rig. I saw a little of it on late night TV as a kid. For about 20 years I thought I’d let imagined it.

On Empire Strikes Back?

Did Kenny Loggins ever record any songs that WEREN’T for ‘80s movie soundtracks?

I haven’t seen King Of Monsters, but based on the trailer it seems to follow the serious, dramatic tone of the first one. Skull Island on the other hand was goofy and fun. I’m not sure how they’re going to mesh those two tones.

Based on that photo, I assumed he was going to Star in a Jarvis Cocker biopic.

You know, I like Merchant’s shows but after rewatching The Office (where Tim was supposedly largely based on him) and seeing a particular episode of Hello, Ladies, I cant help but think he despises the working class.

And we’re talking about a TV show here. If you want to criticise a US corporation for doing business with the Saudis, there are far more insidious ones than an entertainment streaming service.

I know Stephen King adaptations run the gamut from great to mediocre to absolutely awful, but how’s Clive Barker’s record on film? Have there been any good films made from his works?

Wow. Who knew there were so many incels out there?

Indeed. The writer and director commentary on the DVD make it clear it was always intended as a satire, and far from being heavy handed, plenty of critics at the time of its release didn’t get it (though some did). Verhoeven himself says they’re satirising the way governments convince young people that dying for your “

Immediately my thought upon seeing this headline. I’m not a fan of his music, but he’s a funny, self-deprecating guy. There’s no way he didn’t know what he was doing when he suggested the biggest rock band of all time (arguably) wished they were more like him. 😂

“This video is not available.”

Example: “You jive turkey! Quit jiving me!” See? You have to sass it.

I’m guessing the twist is it’s another stealth Unbreakable sequel and the baby has super power. They call him ... Mr Diaper!

It’s a pretty good movie, but I think a lot of people just weren’t willing to accept anyone but Harrison Ford in that role.

I wondered how Ioan ended up making a procedural here in Australia. Now I know.

Prediction: It turns out Scott’s father was abusive and the mother killed him for it.

You know what they say: the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with 500 guns.

My issue with this joke specifically is the lack of context ... the comment just comes out of nowhere and exists for no reason other than to spell out the reference. Does this guy randomly ask every passenger if they like Flock of Seagulls? The other references at least have some context.

This is probably Sandler’s best film (outside Punch Drunk Love) but damn I hate that Flock Of Seagulls joke. He has the haircut, we get it. We don’t need him to say apropos nothing “do you like Flock of Seagulls?” You don’t need to scream at the audience “HEY EVERYONE, HERE’S WHAT WE’RE REFERENCING! DO YOU GET IT?!”
