I wish Nike would come up with a set of clubs called Tiger Irons.

Hey, hey, we’re the Monkeys!/ And people say we monkey around!/ We’re too busy signing pedophiles and then when the league realizes we signed a pedophile they make us kick him out/ to put any body dooooowwn
It would be cool to be able to quantify like, “Mel Ott had the hardest fuckin’ swing ever, dude.”
That’s a good point. I wonder if there’s a way to factor that in, like an adjustment? I suppose it you had comparative data on baseballs from that era, you could do that, right?
I wonder: can this be applied to historic footage? Baseball LOVES to compare is present to its past, and stats like batting average, ERA, RBI, etc. have issues (i.e. different eras, lengths of seasons, etc.). This is a physical metric intrinsic to the player, so it could be cool to compare to, say, Joe Dimaggio or Ted…
What the fuck is this thing even supposed to do? Going to space is insanely expensive; who are we going to fucking fight? Aliens? Elon Musk?
No one has told me what is it that’s been lost, other than some white people now have to see non-white people sometimes.
Hey, that’s unfair. The owner is also offering 40% off imminent diarrhea.
Pretty astute observation, because I have had calf tightness issues in the past. I had friggin’ bilateral Achilles’ tendinitis, and it turns out it was largely due to poor dorsiflexion, which was due to tight-ass calves. I think you need something like 15 degrees ankle flexibility to walk; one leg had like 14 and the…
That’s what I do. I was doing 5 sets of 5 reps, starting at 215lbs (which I know I can comfortably do). Once I felt comfortable, I’d go up 5-10lbs, depending on how the prior weight felt afterwards. I would build up to 245lbs over a couple of months, usually, since any time away from squats just zaps your legs, and it…
I tend to shoot for thighs-parallel. It might be a bit above or below, but it’s typically close to that. I think the issue is just strength/flexibility imbalances. I’m 34 now, so stuff like that actually matters to my body now.
After seeing that photo of him with the Hulkster, I guess I never realized that Winston was 6'9".
Like, I understand people not liking Pelosi, but she’s not the goddamn devil. I’m not even sure she’d end up as Speaker, anyway.
What usually happens is when I get down in the squat, I’ll get a slight lean forward, and correcting that (as opposed to falling forward) is what has resulted in a low back strain. I’m fairly certain it’s due to lack of ROM/tightness in the lower back that hasn’t been properly stretched out.
I’ve found that as I do back squats, I get to a certain weight where I’m just going to get injured (lower back). Right about the time I work up to about 245 (I’m 150), I’ll have one little adjustment and tweak something. I’ve found that split-leg squats with a bench and dumbbells are a GREAT alternative. I’ve also…
Throwing in a Nancy Pelosi boogeywoman comment, too. Nice.
I think the issue is that people KNOW that the democratic socialists know that they have stances that will resonate with a large socio-economic subset of people, regardless of political affiliation, if the message is delivered properly. But it’s going to take time to break through some of these deep red areas that…
Projecting out in to the future, the Democratic Party needs to shift/align into the Democratic Socialist Party. There are so many domestic issues - wage vs. inflation, healthcare, etc. - where the emerging far-left Dems have a message that resonates.
My softball team actually brings a speaker and plays walk-up songs (I thought it would be insanely lame, but every other team loves it). My song is “Fergalicious”. A girl on the team has “Gasolina” and I get upset every time it gets cut off.
We live in a truly fucking exhausting time.
