The process of nominating a candidate has, historically, not really been that democratic. The parties just used to pick a guy they wanted, and those guys are who the general population got to pick from.

My city has a D-league team, and while it’s obviously not the NBA, it’s pretty good! We have a AA baseball team, too, and it’s a cheap way to see a B/B+ version of the major leagues.

What we saw yesterday was standard, “white-collar boss man comes in to meeting, doesn’t know what it’s about, so he shits on a bunch of ideas to seem decisive” fare. When I did a push-up regimen a while back, I was really surprised at the overall body effects (primarily core). I’m in fairly good shape generally, but I was shocked at the core strength benefits I experienced. Everyone: DO PUSH-UPS! 

I actually did this a few months ago, with the goal of getting to 100. I started with a self-imposed baseline of 60. I did it for 4 weeks, where I’d say at a level for the week and then go up 5-10 every subsequent week. I got up to 80 before I moved on to a lifting program - which is pretty cool!
