As someone living in the shitty system, there’s plenty of hope. I think since 9/11, we’ve slowly been ceding certain things under the guise of “keeping us safe” and “BEING AMERICAN!” It’s a real bummer that assholes have co-opted the American flag to the point that when I see one, I don’t think about my grandfathers

It does suck, but you gotta understand: there are active schemes out there to prevent certain demographics from voting. Throw in typically low engagement from younger people, and you can see the gap between the US and, say, the UK, which had like 68% turnout for Brexit. Canada had a 68% turnout in 2015, but prior to

Didn’t care to look it up, but has strong opinions on the topic. Makes sense.

Luke Skywalker isn’t real. Middle-Earth isn’t real. Welcome to the whole concept of fiction.

Correct. The Eagles are obligated to get as much for Foles as possible, but Dolt Man said they should accept nothing less than two firsts and two seconds.

Exactly. Asking for it, or accepting it, is one thing. But saying that the Eagles “should not accept anything lower than two firsts and two seconds” is nuts.

Sure, I guess the disconnect I feel is that he’s saying Foles is worth that, vs. what the Eagles are asking for. Foles is great, but that feels like a really hefty price for a team to pay for a guy who’s had one really good run.

Didn’t he also say that the Eagles should be shopping Nick Foles for two first round and two second round picks? I mean, dude did great, but I could see that maybe for younger franchise QB, like Deshaun Watson or something.

I saw them on TKOL tour, and while they played a lot from the album (obviously), the live versions are always awesome. They put a lot of effort in to distinguish them from the album versions, and their shows (i.e. sets, lighting) are always interesting. It’s a good show.

Aside from exploring other Kendrick Lamar albums (they’re good), the first name that pops in my head is Janelle Monae. She’s extremely creative and actually has a new album coming out in the near future. I guess she’d be classified as like, electric neo-soul?

Only reason I didn’t go last night is that my wife would murder me. We bought our tickets for tonight earlier this week, and with the release of the BP album last week, I could not be more amped for this.

I’m wondering if there are stipulations in the agreements I’m assuming exist between ESPN and advertisers. Like, if they’re contractually obligated to not disparage the advertiser, then this is even worse for ESPN, because they’re too dim to adhere to stipulations.

“McDonalds is doing this as a cynical marketing ploy.”

Tell me more!

I think you just did that for me, Shell Answer Man.

McDonald’s is making the choice because parents don’t want to give their kid a meal that’s 40% of their kids caloric intake, with that many calories attributable to the fat. Some people are too stupid to make good choices, but plenty are making the choice to just not go to goddamn McDonald’s and feed their kids

Well in that case, legalize all crime, like the Purge. Criminals don’t abide by laws, so why have laws? Then you can build your own weapons all day long while more kids die.

Just keep all this stuff in mind in November if you’re still of the mind that, “Both parties are basically the same.” Democrats have been really wieners about gun control in the past, but voting them in and holding them accountable is much, much better than continuing to allow NRA-funded Republicans to equate child

Now’s a good time to restate: once it was decided that shooting 20-or-so elementary school kids wasn’t enough for change, the door was opened for anything and everything.
