When I reserved my Model 3, the plan was to trade in my 2015 Taurus SHO. The problem is that I realized that an AWD Performance Model 3 was going to be a bit more expensive than I expected, and I really NEEDED a car by September/Oct of this year.

Agreed that the Juke was old and needed to be replaced. The problem is they replaced it with the Kicks which is a bland CUV with a ridiculously under-powered engine. It’s down 63HP and 62 ft/lbs compared to the Juke. That’s huge when you’re only starting at 188 and 177 respectively. It also doesn’t even have AWD. In…
I was thinking the same thing. I could park a Jimny nose to tail with my Abarth and still have room left.
The regular Leaf is fine, just fine as it is...
Exactly, this thing is down 20ft/lbs and 73hp while being up a few hundred pounds compared to a GTI.
This is old news and there isn’t anything new because of the trade war. As you even included in the article, Tesla has been talking about production in China for at least a year. Why bring the trade war into this and try to link normal planned business operations to it? Oh, for so you can keep milking the Tesla cow…
I want one of these! Too bad I’ll be old and likely/hopefully retired by the time these are able to be imported to the US. I’d love something like this now! Throw in a small turbo diesel with ~200 ft/lbs of torque and it would be perfect. Kinetic Yellow please!
It’s, apparently, the new cool thing to do. I saw a 45 year old man driving a 90's Corolla, wearing bright red Beats (probably knock-offs). I see people do it all of the time. With crappy cars, I kind of get it because they are trying to drown out noise and the radio is probably junk or dead. I don’t agree, but I kind…
I’m going to back all of the GTI recommendations. He will be able to get a new one with the DSG for under budget. It’s kind of the king of the New, Practical, Sporty, Fun, Automatic, $25k category.
I bought a 500 Abarth fully expecting it to be funreliable. So far, it’s been really fun and quite reliable. The drivers side door handle broke and the drivers seat belt doesn’t retract well. The shifter bushings were shot when I bought it as well.
Because nobody wants a car anymore. Those are so old fashioned. Might as well drive a station wagon or minivan... Ewww! SUVs are the only vehicles that anybody should ever drive...
I work for a family business as well. 3rd gen have all worked here, none of them really wanted to. Only 1 is left and she’s so spoiled and privileged (and full on millennial) that she spends 80%+ of her time doing “other stuff” instead of actually doing the work she’s supposed to be doing. Oh, and her daddy is getting…
I know everybody is talking about the delicate nature of the shift, but I’d like to take a second to comment on the actual throw of the shift. I’ve never seen a manual transmission throw that short! It’s fantastic!
Does that mean it should have been called DooDoo Blue instead?
I noticed this same phenomena with my 4x4 Ranger back in the day.
The carbon fibers actually have this effect already, no need for copper.
I get your your point. There can be more factors than just driver stupidity. My main basis for that point was that the driver put too much faith in a driver aid and wasn’t paying attention to the road ahead. My points were meant to support my opinion that the name of the system doesn’t matter in the slightest.
My entire argument was centered around the name, not the merits of the system in general or whether it should be on the road.
I am so sick of the name argument! A name is only a name. The people doing dumb shit like this would still do this if the name was “Drive Assist”, “Watch the fucking road”, or “You may crash and die, so please stay alert while the car moves the steering wheel and controls your speed”
Even better would be a TC RS... AWD, 350hp, hopefully minus the white smoke problem... I love my Focus RS, but it would get dropped like last night’s hookup for a Transit Connect RS.
