I’m pretty sure that I’m not going to feel any better getting shot by a good guy with a gun than I would being shot by a bad guy with a gun. Increasing the number of bullets flying around in a chaotic situation is only going to get more people killed.

I’m guessing that most, if not all, college-age students have had some form of active shooter response training that explains this protocol in detail. It is pretty common for middle- and high school students to be trained and drilled on active shooter scenarios.
