They rent the standard NA Chevy Cruze as well as a trim with a Turbo(ECO?). They’ll pretty much toss a turbo in anything now-a-days for fuel savings. It’s not all about performance anymore.

Well, if you’re going race a car that doesn’t belong to you, it might as well be the fastest car...in the world!
Hey, it may not compress any air, but as a charger, I’m sure it’s super!
That’s pretty ambitious to install a blower. For the enhanced rental experience Nitrous is where it’s at. I’ve seen installed on a rental 300C, Maxima, DeVille, Mustang, Camaro and a Caravan (all by the same guy).
That’s the sort of thing that a team that became known as NMC Racing did at the Saturn Performance Club rally each year - fly out to the Chicago area, rent a Saturn, mod it up for the week, then return it to stock before bringing it back and flying home. NMC stands for “Not My Car.” :)
I’m sure there are people out there that rent a car, put a blower on it, thrash it, then remove the blower before they return it
Well actually, the NSX wore a Honda badge in Japan (see what I did there)
That’s pretty much how I look at it. A while back someone I know had a Fiat 500 rental car and was giving me a ride somewhere. She absolutely insisted that the car has a supercharger and wouldn’t hear anything differently.
+1 for the only example of modern car with a V4
Leather and a beak?
That one always grinds my gears. Unless the car you’re selling on Craigslist is a late-’60s/early-’70s Saab or a German Ford, it most likely does NOT have a V4 under the hood.
Though they are not as plentiful as the V4 Honda Accord
BMWs have a V6 a million Craigslist sellers can't be wrong
I know you are trying to compare apples to apples, but based on price, for about $380 more, you can get a Ecoboost F150 (instead of the base NA V6) that will deliver 325hp / 375 ft-lbs, get 26 mpg on the highway, and do 0-60 in less than 60 seconds.
We have it. Colorado 2WD with diesel is 31 mpg/4wd is 29 mpg
Overinflate tires and ruin emissions controls.
My 10 year old FWD mid-size sedan doesn’t even get 30mpg, it’ll take some serious aerodynamic trickery and a more power dense fuel (like diesel) to get that, maybe some pizza cutters too for LRR. But most of those things reduce the functionality of a truck and defeat the purpose. That being said, the diesel Ram 1500…
Sure!
That’s the question I ask myself before I go into a deep trance.
What is the sound of Velcro closing?
