The e-Golf is great, but its battery is unfortunately half the size of a Chevy Bolt or Kia Niro EV battery. I ended up replacing my Golf with a Niro EV. Which is also pretty fun, especially on summer tires.

I had an MK7, and it really felt like a special car. I only sold it because I decided to go electric.

The ride quality in the Model S is a lot better than the Model 3. But not $50000 better.

Your friend's place sounds great. I have roughly the same setup.

Electrify America fast-charging stations are decent now for cross-country road trips. Decent, but not perfect. Getting better.

I won’t buy a car that uses a timing chain either. --EV driver

The original Fast and Furious didn’t see this coming. People don’t street race anymore. They just do donuts in intersections for instagram.

Interesting, that makes sense. I guess we just got a bad one.

I don’t get why. We had one of these when I was growing up. It was about 15 years old at the time. The interior was cheap plastic. It was loud. It had less interior space than you’d think. The AWD system was good in its day, but nothing special today. The Buick-derived V6 was gutless and unrefined. The aluminum body

It’s pretty unusual to see an electric car with the batteries *not* under the floor. Seems like this setup allows the driver to sit lower, but its weight-distribution is worse.

I would like an electric GT40

You can’t repair your car’s engine with a gun.

Toyota product planning meeting:

Just curious - what didn’t you like about the XC40 Recharge that makes you say it’s poorly-designed? I spent a few days driving one and loved it. But maybe I’m overlooking some big flaw.

Do you actually eat two hot dogs for lunch every day?

If you want an electric sporty-ish German car with a “coupe shape and 5 doors,” how about the BMW i4?

I had an NC and loved it. The NA and NB are probably a bit more nimble. But I liked that the NC had side air bags and newer safety equipment.

I was pretty happy with the Bay Area dealer where I bought my Niro EV. They let me take two extended test drives before I bought it. I didn't have to do a credit check to get the test drive.

This type of thing is fairly common when a desirable car comes out. I remember the same types of stories when the BRZ came out. And when the 500 Abarth came out. The hype always calms down eventually.
