Since we just accept German and Italian Americans as "White," it'd be weird in our contemporary context.

I'm not even sure what we're debating anymore.

Not if I were Italian.

What about Russians with British accents (e.g. "Enemy At The Gates," "Anna Karenina")?

I'm pretty sure if Idris Elba or Godfrey Gao starred in their own romantic comedy, tonnes of women would come see it, even if the movie sucked.

Yes, it's a "Better deal" situation, but here's the reality:

Because only Whites can be individuals. Amirite?

I think so too. I'm Asian and my girlfriend is White. Maybe it's just confirmation bias now because of my own relationship, but it seems that many of my Asian male friends are also in similar types of relationships.

People drop $50 on a meal and drinks, but then whine about the extra few bucks that a good tip will cost them.

White people set movies in Ancient Greece and have people speaking in Scottish accents.

Let's not play the "Colonialism was good" game. Right-wing Japanese politicians use the same rationale to justify all the horrible stuff they did to other Asian peoples. White racists use it to justify slavery and Jim Crow.

My apologies. For some reason, I thought we were talking about Disney movies. I read an article recently by an Asian person talking about how she didn't like Mulan, and I saw "aristocratic" in your post and made an error.

Actually, a movie about the Soong Sisters would be very interesting, though I don't think it'd be appropriate for a traditional Disney musical.

That's probably because most social forces greatly encourage and incentivize non-Whites to abandon their heritage and suck up to Whites.

This makes no sense.

Ah I see. Yeah, it's sometimes hard for Asian Americans to date Asian Asian people.

There's no need to think like that.

It's really complicated to compare Asian American guys with Asian-Asian guys.

Are you talking about Asian American guys or Asian Asian guys?

I would say that it's probably true for a lot of guys. I was like that a while ago.
