I love the Claudette Colvin (the Birmingham/Burning Man slip up makes me giggle every time) and Sybil Luddington’s Midnight Ride. Drunk History is my family’s favorite hang-out show.

As a mother of two littles, who is also the primary wage earner in our household and never works less than 50 a week - THANK YOU for your kindness! Some of the younger women in my office grumble about coworkers with kids but they don’t see the time I’m putting in at night when kids are in bed, and at 5am before my

Thank you- I laughed out loud.

Yes! This Doc admonished Obama for smoking, but doesn’t say Boo to Trump’s MickeyD’s habit? Something is rotten in Denmark.

I have come to love my 03 CRV in a way that I didn’t think it was possible to get attached to a car. I’m going to be irrational when it comes to replacing it (Hopefully in five years :))

aww come on- let’s not slag on the humanities! I’ve got a degree in music and art history and now I work for a tech company that helps update/recycle old military vehicles to keep them reusable in the 21st century. Humanities folks are great at all sorts of things. And those are actually great schools with good

I would agree with you - except for the crossed out vote for Gillespie. This person clearly was unsure how to fill out the ballot and that makes this unclear.

Also, has no one ever voted split ticket? I’m a hardcore Dem but have voted for Repub governors and local reps. And I have family members who voted straight

:) I agree but they are only good for 5 years for children and due to budget and vacation time constraints we aren’t travelling abroad for a long while. Also between getting the passports for them and renewing mine and DH’s we are talking $400 bucks (and there we run into budget issues again).

Every now and then I toy with getting my young children passports “just in case” and then chastise myself for overreacting. I remember when my MIL thought Obama was going to make us all convert to Islam and I don’t want to be like her. But . . . . I still think about getting my kids passports on a regular basis :)

and mine don’t allow booze in their home! 4 days with teetoller republicans who think Trump has been “blessed by God.” - I will pray for us all!

Yes! Dahlia Lithwick had a great piece over on slate yesterday: “ this is a perfectly transactional moment in governance, and what we get in exchange for being good and moral right now is nothing. I’m not saying we should hit pause on #MeToo, or direct any less fury at sexual predators in their every manifestation.

and deficits!

As a former singer this is still my nightmare. I actually had a cluster headache last year that coincided with a rehearsal in which many high notes were sung. I got my butt to the emergency room ASAP. I also knew an oboist who died of a stroke - absolutely tragic. Best wishes to your aunt and her family and I hope she

I think most of us in “we would love to protest” category are frantically hamsterwheeling at our jobs to make ends meet and scrambling for child care. But I too keep thinking “okay when are we going to have a protest on the scale of January’s women’s march?”

I was thinking a dual cover with Colin Kaepernick and Heather Heyer - but yours is is excellent too. I know we all tend to focus on the negatives, but on the bright side there are a lot of people out there being extraordinarily brave and standing up to injustice right now.

The Armstrong Little Women is in my annual Christmas Rotation! Enough key scenes are at Christmas and in the snow that I feel it totally counts.

I’m sorry! We are also planning on the tuition benefit for our kids but they are a bit younger. Sucks to feel like the rug is being pulled out after years of responsible planning.

perfect gif is perfect

Ack! I tried to star you because you are awesome but I got kinja’d and it took a star away. I’m sorry. You are amazing and good for you!!!
