ugh - I still get mad at the world for deciding The Corrections was worth reading. It really wasn’t.

Chris Cooper can be extremely sexy - I remember watching Adaptation and being floored that he could make toothless sexy. thumbs up.
Reading this made me realize how your office Slack is several light years ahead of my office Slack.
Yes! The other one who comes across as super genuine to me is Uzo Aduba. Some people just make you smile!
Kanye is making me sad because I think 808s & Heartbreak is an extraordinary album. And his colab with Caroline Shaw is fantastic too. Grrrr Kanye. But yes - we need more Janelle! I convinced my husband to teach Hell You Talmbout in his gen ed music course when they talk about music and politics and he says the kiddos…
FWIW - I think reporting helps in some cases. At my church (I know!) we have recently begun an effort to name every child killed by gun violence in our weekly prayers as well as a more general “8 children and 14 teens injured by gun violence this week” - people have commented that it is very eye opening for them.
Not entirely true, most of the conservatives I know read The Harbinger (one even temporarily moved to New Zealand because he thought the US would actually collapse :)) https://www.amazon.com/Harbinger-Ancient-Mystery-Secret-Americas/dp/161638610X
I have a funny idiot talking to Comey story! My cousin is FBI and my super conservative Aunt and Uncle were visiting her and got to go to a reception and met Comey. My uncle says something along the lines of “Probably shouldn’t ask you anything about Obama huh? Man you must hate him.” Comey apparently says very slowly…
Doesn’t her husband own The Federalist? They’ve published some pretty questionable crap, especially recently.
just put the request in for that at my library - that sounds like perfection!
This makes so much sense to me now. I had a cousin that went to Cooley and I remember thinking “There is no way that girl had LSATs high enough to get into law school.” She didn’t finish school but now works for the FBI (and I remember thinking “How the hell did she pass a BG check to get a gun?!)
This is me too! I had mine at 30 and 32 and was working fro home within 24 hours of giving birth - because my company was too small for FMLA. I swear my body has never recovered and my youngest is 4. You are awesome, I am awesome and women, in general, are awesome.
I hope it gets better for those younger than us.
adopt me!
Rex Manning Day is only two days away!
yes- same cast. They were required to get a 250k in extra financing to get the go ahead and if I recall they hit that goal in like 24 hours on kickstarter and then ended up hitting close to a million, or something absurd.
Yes! I am also here for Jack with shaggy hair :)
They are making a Phryne Fisher movie and it will hopefully be everything we’ve all ever wanted in a murder mystery solving/flapper feminist adventure film.
You are preaching to the choir :) But I think it is also worth acknowledging when the other side has an argument that is legitimate. Abortion should be available and inexpensive to anyone who needs one and Planned Parenthood’s mission is noble and should be funded (and frankly, expanded)- but that doesn’t mean that…
I volunteer as tribute!
That is what I meant, and essentially what the fungible argument boils down to. And fwiw, I would say that the insurance market is really weird and that Aetna etc do sort of help pay rent/salary because insurance is a benefit that is provided in lieu of salary (at least conceptually) so Aetna/Medicaid, etc is paying…
