@MizJenkins: Wait, why is Angie different or "okay" from other celebs?
@MizJenkins: Wait, why is Angie different or "okay" from other celebs?
@crazybitch: No worries, your comment didn't come off to me as rude at all.
@crazybitch: They are definitely all their children, and normally I'd agree with you it's crappy to point it out (like when the tabs for some reason always talk about Tom Cruise's "adopted children", etc).
@RunningCori: Entirely possible! I wasn't actually supposed to watch Miami Vice— I was pretty young, and my mom thought it too violent. Same with Charlie's Angels, come to think of it, which is the sum total of censoring that my parents did. I guess they gave up shortly after!
@NewsBunny: This is so sweet, and very smart of the cop to have done. Kids should be able to trust cops so that they can go to them if they need help or are having trouble at home.
@collegelemur: One of the cops in Miami Vice had a pet alligator, or at least is shown in the opening credits feeding an alligator (can't remember if it was his pet). And now I feel old that this was so long ago!
@HeyNiceSuit: She's actually talked quite a bit about how self-conscious she has always been about her body and her looks, and how it caused her to have several rounds of plastic surgery, some of which she regretted.
@belladonna seablue marshmallow eyes: Oh wow, that will add a whole 'nother dimension to it probably if you knew one of his victims. It's really one of the most impacting documentaries I've ever seen...
@katabell: Oh got it, good point that there was also a theological justification of it.
The pedophile priest featured in the documentary "Deliver Us from Evil" (available on Netflix, though not for the faint of heart) abused both male and female children. And the girl he abused featured in the documentary was over a long period of time, and he gained access to her by schmoozing her family, just as…
@katabell: Well historically, the Catholic Church used to allow priests to marry and have children, but their wealth was then handed down to their children instead of to the Church.
@spiraloflife: Yup, in addition to half my vision, I lost a lot of feeling in one arm, so I thought I was having a stroke the first time. Scary.
I posted this downthread, but I think it bears repeating. I have no sympathy for her because:
@misshistory: She hired some stranger in Russia off the Internet for $200 to meet the boy in Moscow off his flight and take him to an orphanage. He could have been a pedophile and taken him to god knows where, and no one would have known.
@ponycyndi: My 3 year old nephew does something like this to his mother (my sister) when he's mad. His face turns all red, and he yells, "Don't look at me!! You're not allowed to look at me!!"
@whynotshesaid: Oh yeah, I definitely wasn't commenting on the response itself...just the Muphry/Murphy dichotomy!
@whynotshesaid: I think that's the joke (or if it isn't, then it should be!)— Murphy's Law is the more general "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong".
@Taren: Single White Female is the only one that comes to mind right away, that's a good point.
@sampagita: Ha! I had the exact same thought when I heard her say that...
@The Plain People of Ireland: I know, awful. The linked article says all the children's bodies were unharmed except for hers— which had bruises on her face. Ugh.
