@Seeräuber Jenny: I loved Heavenly Creatures, and knew nothing about it before I happened to catch it on TV one day. I did a lot of Internet reading about the story after— so very disturbing.

@Trulymadlyme: Her mother is now taking care of the child from what I read upthread, though, so I guess she isn't in fact that sick?
@Red-headed bookworm is now a brunette: OK, sounds like the guys in the article can definitely claim at least 3, 4, and 6 then. Thanks!
@Trulymadlyme: Yes, I noted this above. To me that is bullying, and a hostile work environment. Or harrassment without the sexual component. But I feel like they are being conflated a bit in the article?
This is interesting because its making me ask myself, when is it bullying, and when is it sexual harassment? The anecdote above about the sodomy with a bar of soap is clearly past sexual harrassment and is full-on assault, but some of the other incidents described seem more like bullying to me.
@RubyPenelope: I agree, but I think this situation has been complicated by the fact that Casey wasn't raising her daughter at the time she died. I'm not sure how long Ava had been with her grandparents and if she saw Casey at all during that time, but if it was long enough, she may not remember her mother at all.…
@straightbuggin: Don't forget Holocaust Heather!
@veronykah: Or "the red rocket" as I've heard it too...
@girlarchaeologist: Awesome, thanks for the insight!
@duplo mama: Heh, I may or may not have done this as a teen myself in the early nineties— with my dad's flannel shirts worn open over super cool bodysuits.
@CarolOxyntes: I haven't read the full NYT article, but I believe under the paper's rules it would have to be disclosed if the quoted doctor had a financial interest related to his position.
@quatrevingtquatre: Will check them out! The Dove come in dark or milk chocolate coating, and various flavors (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) inside. Yum on the dark!
@Hazey Jane: I wouldn't say Elizabeth going on a national book tour to promote her book that included references to John's infidelity is being your average private citizen who shouldn't expect media interest...
@vonapathy: I have the Mirena (IUD with hormones), and I only get a very very light period about every other month. And without BC I was a hemorraghing, clotting, cramping, 7-day period mess.
@Penny: ...and Cindy Crawford, Sharon Stone, etc.
@quatrevingtquatre: Those sound really good, especially the organic part. I once tried those Skinny Cow ice creams, and while they tasted okay, the list of chemicals as ingredient really turned me off.
@PepperSandy: This relly makes sense, and it's a distinction I've never thought of. Thanks for explaining it so well...
@honey's dead: I'm not deeply familiar with the laws, but I'm guessing someone could still sexually harass even if the sexual orientations and genders don't match up. If Richard consistently talked about inappropriate for the workplace sexual topics, and the employee was uncomfortable as a result, that could be…
@Halfmad also known as MaxAgron: OMG, I love the Christmas card idea! You've given me something to think about over the coming year— I'm single, so haven't done the photo Christmas card because I'm not going to put just me on it, but something funny like you did is a great idea!
@DoxyByProxy: This reminds me of when the stupid liquid restrictions for flying were first put into place, I was traveling every week for work. For the first couple of months there was no "3 oz exception", it was no liquids (including mascara) period, at least out of my airport.
