The article says “let’s play”, all lets plays have commentary. Playthroughs without commentary are called longplays. And again, if a longplay with nothing added is a substitute for playing, then your game may as well be a movie.

Kotaku does brief let’s plays (albeit a small portion) and long streams of gameplay.
