This conversion is definitely more attractive than what came from the factory, even with the tent-like top raised. But the condition is just OK, and $13K is more than OK money. ND.

I feel like this is a YMMV situation. There are horror stories, and there are 300k survivors. My first Pilot was an ’07, and some people would have told me I had a ticking time bomb. It was the most trouble-free vehicle I ever owned, right up until it got totaled at 186K.
Having owned a couple of Pilots, easy NP. It’s old enough that even in Acura guise, it doesn’t have a lot of fragile gadgetry to break. But at that mileage, if it’s been maintained as the seller claims, it’s just getting warmed up.
This is entry-level collector money, but I’m not sure I see the value here. You could go other directions, from restomod to parting it out, but you’d want to pay less upfront. ND.
The mods suggest it’s been rode hard, which is what it’s made for, so good on the seller. But you can’t have your fun and suspend the laws of depreciation. ND.
I certainly won’t call it the best ever, but my ’97 Caravan was great while it lasted. The quintessential family hauler without the compromises of an SUV, and surprisingly durable. I parted with it at 170K based on the question that often seals the fate of my older vehicles: How much am I willing to spend to get it…
If you really want one but you’re on a budget, this may be as good as it gets. And my, that is one ’80s dash transported a decade back in time. NP.
If only that were true. Alas, that’s how it came from the factory.
That is among the ugliest faces ever put on a production car. A lazy attempt to differentiate it from whatever sibling had the directionals below the headlights. Even if it weren’t so ugly, too much money for someone else’s very personal expression of style. ND.
That’s...the wrong color. No design is perfect, but this hue brings out all the flaws. It doesn’t have to be red, but if I were in a position to be shopping Ferraris, this would not be it. Honestly, I have no idea if it’s a fair price, but given the questions surrounding this one, I’m going ND.
At this price it had better be absolutely pristine. Otherwise it’s a car to enjoy ironically or put to work as a stuff-hauling beater, and it’s not worth $12.5K for either of those roles.
I’m on the fence with this one, as are the voters, apparently. I went ND, mainly for the odo issue, but this is one rare bird. I could be swayed the other way.
Too late to change my vote. I was going to say, this is not for me for many reasons, but it shouldn’t be too hard to get $31K for one with a clean title, especially on the West Coast. But salvage? Hard no.
Say what you will about BMW, I never thought of them as playing the contrived exclusivity game. If more people had wanted these, they would have made more. I mean, cool car, but...ND.
I give you High Bridge, NJ. The reason is different here. The county highway system is often overlaid on roads that date from the 19th century or earlier. In this case, the county route turns at a T intersection, resulting in this.
Chances are something disproportionately pricey got damaged when the car was too far down the depreciation curve. But we don’t know that. We do know what a hassle it will be to insure. Sad, sad ND, because I’ll be in the market soon and this would be perfect if it were on the other coast.
This looks like one of those squealing mini-droids scuttling around the corridors of the Death Star. I don’t want that to be the thing that kills me. ND.
Almost had me, but the mystery mileage kind of ruins it. The A/C is less of an issue for a car you’d like drive mostly in top-down weather, but “just needs a recharge” is something to always take with a large grain of salt. ND, although I see it’s already gone.
I wonder how many models dubbed “collector” from the factory turn out to be that. As an “investment,” this car isn’t and never will be worth $60K. Or if you choose to drive it, you’ll have a palpably inferior experience to any number of newer, even brand new cars you could get for the same money. ND.
We have found this particular Don Johnson’s vice.
