This is a little too dear for some Gen-Xer’s nostalgia trip, and not quite worth entry-level collector money. Not sure how I’d price it, but this doesn’t feel quite right. ND.

It is cool, just not that cool for most of us. But the cult of VW being what it is, I can see it going at or near full price to someone with deep pockets and a deep thirst for bragging rights. Never mind that it will never carry anything harder than a pillow or touch any terrain rougher than a freshly mown park. NP.
Lotus position, assume the position, tossed into word salad...
I am not in a position to assume responsibility for this Lotus.
You would almost have to ding it up a little to make it a guilt-free work truck. ND
I rarely go with this tired old phrase, but kill it with fire.
This is a notch above a similarly preserved Pinto. OK, neat trick, but why? ND.
This, peeking out behind the driver’s seat, might be a clue to the MS Paint mystery.
In the blink of an eye, and they’ll act like they always knew.
Yeah, it’s still pricey enough to weed out the most woefully unprepared buyers.
It’s a hatch! It’s practical!
I suspect this is trickling into more forms of public transportation. We all see what’s happening on planes. For me, twice in the past six weeks on my sleepy, suburb-bound NJ commuter train, I’ve witnessed screaming–screaming–tirades that veered very close to physical brawls. I had never seen anything like it before.
It may be irrational, but on the other hand, this is from an era when 100K still amounted to running on borrowed time for many cars.
I'm surprisingly torn on this. Sure, a cheap runner that will probably be the only one at C&C. But I once bought a K-car at roughly this mileage for far less money, and it was still a bad decision. Reluctant ND.
This will probably go to someone who can’t afford the upkeep, but go it will. NP.
This on is past its Shel-by date. ND.
I kinda like it. I don’t even mind the gold wheels, and I’m not usually a fan of gold anything on a car unless it’s the actual paint. But bottom line, it’s a Tahoe pushing a quarter century old and modded to the owner’s personal taste. He’ll have to keep enjoying it. ND.
Several years back, a man in NJ came forward with the story of how a female teacher preyed upon him in high school. His account made clear how miserable it was, not just in hindsight but in the moment. The price of his “score” was a smothering, controlling relationship and incessant gossip, followed of course by years…
Sheesh.
