There’s also the fact that when your argument has devolved to “But he didn’t explicitly extort the foreign leader to help him with his reelection campaign!” you know you’re defending some really bad stuff and should reevaluate your values. 

It would be incredibly fitting if Trump’s undoing was because he was chasing after yet another fake conspiracy theory pushed by Fox and other right-wing propaganda outlets. 

Gosh, you’re right, Democrats should once again try to tiptoe around Trump’s base because upsetting them might make them vote for Trump.
