Delaney is fine as a representative of what I’m going to assume is a pretty conservative district.

I literally just did a frantic google search to try to determine if that was real.
Republican Sen. Richard Burr, who heads the Senate Intelligence Committee, specifically warned Trump not to nominate him. Time magazine reported that Burr “told the White House last week that the move would inject more partisan politics into the work of the intelligence agencies.”
“... and they’d probably try to explain he was never really conservative.”
Even Trump doesn’t hold a candle to Mitch when it comes to gaslighting. I have yet to see a video of Mitch holding court in which he isn’t lying and projecting with 100% rheumy-eyed confidence.
I think it’s both. He’s being racist both because he is a racist and because racism has proven to be a political boon for him and an easy way to change the subject of the national dialogue. I agree with the analogy that he’s a child that thinks he’s being clever.
Everything for Trump is transactional, and morality and ethics do not exist.
In the world of Fox News racists, “Sharpton” is a dog whistle for “all the things you don’t like about those uppity blacks.”
<reads article about egirls, brow increasingly furrows in confusion>
Then I won’t. Keep on believing that pretending to be above it all and letting Republicans run wild and establishing the media narrative every single time will somehow result in positive change.
I wanted the Dems to be prepared to sell their version of events in the media, because that’s what actually matters here if they are going to forgo impeachment and go all in on winning the 2020 elections. I explained as much in my previous post, so not sure what you’re misunderstanding.
I agree, but here’s where I agree with criticisms of the Democrats’ strategy (or lack thereof) on this:
Just this morning, CNN has a top headline which stated “Impeachment Efforts Against Trump Fizzle”.
The defining characteristic, moreso than even racism or their hatred of women and the poor, is their ability/compulsion to repackage the same old shit, over and over, and sell it as if it’s brand new. They are the fashion industry of politics.
Why would Hillary have gone down with Bill if Bill had been convicted and expelled from office? Also, there’s a world of difference between Bill Clinton’s impeachment and what Trump has done. Your mask is slipping with that comparison and assertion.
Context: I no longer live in a red state, but am from one and still have enough exposure to generate informed opinions on the subject.
False. The point of impeachment wouldn’t be to expel Donald Trump from the presidency, it would be to attempt to hold him accountable for his multiple crimes. If Republicans choose to get in the way of that process, then make them pay the price politically.
Eh, the deplorables have mostly been reliable Republican voters for a long time now. Trump is just the perfect Republican, what the party has been building toward for decades now.
I think erring on the side of caution would be assuming that 90% of Republicans would write him in.
