I knew it wouldn’t happen, but while I was watching this scene play out I was praying that Mueller would finally just sigh and admit that he was using the “could not be exonerated” phrasing because Donald Trump was guilty as fuck. 

President Trump and the Republican Party are now synonymous. There is plenty the Republican Party can do at every level of government to meddle with elections. 

Four years? If Trump can be indicted upon leaving office, but will suffer no legal consequences for breaking the law while still president, then there is a 100% incentive for him to illegally rig elections so he never has to leave office, and zero incentive not to do so. 

If Robert Mueller wanted to indict Trump, he’s had hours of opportunity today to simply state, “I wanted to indict Trump.”

Right? Nothing about this passes the smell test, and that’s ignoring that we shouldn’t believe anything these people tell us in the first place.
