You don’t need a fucking study. It’s common sense and the literal foundation of capitalism. People work for money because, once their basic needs are met, they want to buy more stuff than other people.

C) They preferred a populist that promised fairy tales that is also racist and xenophobic as opposed to one that isn’t.

This is all such a bunch of tired bullshit.

He won because he appealed to racism, xenophobia and childish and simplistic populism. And because lots of Americans are ignorant, foolish or terrible enough to fall for the salesmanship of America’s most obvious conman.

Hey, you leave his strawman alone!

There it is. The “this is why Donald Trump got elected” tapout.

No, there are millions of Republicans that are literally and openly opposed to providing healthcare to others, no matter the cost.

Take it from the military budget and increase taxes on the super rich. Done.

Notice how McCain and other concern trolls in the media will focus almost entirely on the label and not the substance. When substance is brought up, they will deflect as quickly as possible to the label, and to Venezuela, and to anything other than the actual policies and ideas being proposed.

Increasingly conservatives oppose teaching critical thinking itself, as it creates citizens that tend to question authority and yearn for facts and logic to support opinions and policies.

Neither started as dictatorships, though. Hitler and Mussolini both legally power, then persuaded other officials to grant them dictatorial powers, i.e. approval to bypass checks and balances.

Correct. But unless someone is extracting a profit from it, it’s immoral or inefficient or something? The argument kind of falls apart around there.

These kinds of arguments are always at least partial trolls. Evidence: Right now on her Twitter feed, she’s doing the thing where she ignores substantive rebuttals of her shitty column to focus on tweets that personally insult her with quips like, “Liberals are so tolerant, like all these pseudo-intellectual cons do.

They’re perfectly fine with fire insurance, so long as it’s provided by a private entity. But publicly funded fire departments are the devil’s work.

Her Twitter feed is exactly what you think it is, as well. It’s a frothy mix of horrible logic and blatant projection, including at least one gem about the “cognitive dissonance of Trump haters ...”

A better analogy would be the German Nazis and the Italian Fascists from 80-90 years ago, where conservatives quickly ceded power to a charismatic leader with a large support base of angry, ignorant racists because “he was better than the communists” and would be easily controlled.

No, I strongly disagree.

It fascinates me that someone rejects those “easily accepted” and seemingly common sense morals concerning basic human decency to continue clinging to the very primitive idea that one person deserves to possess billions of dollars in assets while thousands suffer in poverty.

They think that “education” means “indoctrination” — and more accurately, that their precious offspring might learn that mommy and daddy’s beliefs are illogical, self-serving mythology.

This was my experience as well. After a few planets I realized that there really wasn’t much variation at all between planets. They were mostly the same size. They featured plants that looked a bit different but otherwise behaved exactly the same. They featured the same relatively small group of minerals, in roughly
