I think Barstool is kind of like Fox News — it’s popular among a certain subset of society that’s inordinately loud and obnoxious, but the vast majority of Americans aren’t patrons.

No, it couldn’t. It really couldn’t. The DC real estate market is estimated to be worth over $1.1 trillion. Even with a 100% return on investment every single year— which is not at all realistic, in any way — it would take a decade to actually invest enough money to even come close to this hypothetical goal. And…
No, I know that there’s a lot of money in politics. But you’re vastly underestimating the value of DC real estate. The Koch brothers could blow their entire fortune and not even acquire a significant fraction of DC proper at current estimated values, much less the entire 100 mile radius. And that’s discounting what…
Again, it seems like you’ve never been to DC, or really any city anywhere.
No. They couldn’t. Nothing works that way, and you seem to have no idea whatsoever how big DC is or how valuable real estate is there or how massive a coordinated project it would be to SECRETLY acquire ALL the real estate in the DC area.
You think a political party has the means to buy up all real estate in Washington DC and its suburbs? Or put together a monopoly of all car services in the entire metro area?
To be fair, I did that by comparing his victim-blaming of Stormy of saying that a rape victim “should have been smarter than to wear that kind of dress.” Because while the consequences are different, the shitty logic is identical.
Now you’re scared that he’s going to kill her? Should everybody that has a grievance with the powerful quit their jobs and go to the mattresses?
Except it wasn’t commonly known nor enforced. And whether you like being called for it or not, you are victim-blaming. If you knew someone would make that connection, why the fuck did you post your shitty opinion?
Oh, fuck off with that fascist shit. Some laws are dumb and shouldn’t be enforced, and we should harshly criticize the arbitrary enforcement of dumb laws for naked political reasons.
That is not a reason to lay low, fascist.
How often is this particular Ohio law enforced then, since you seem to know?
That’s a pretty generous interpretation, considering this law was conceived and passed exclusively by Jim Jordan Republicans.
Huh? It is not a reasonable expectation, at all, that redhat cops would arrest her for some ridiculously minor infraction of a rarely enforced law. That’s why this is a story in the first place — because that is not reasonable and is wholly unacceptable.
Why should she be “laying low?”
Most strip clubs are definitely not “anything goes,” but there’s still usually a significant distance between breaking the rules and getting warned or thrown out and getting f’ing arrested.
Or outside Walmarts, especially if they’re children like Tamir Rice.
“Under Ohio law, employees who appear nude or seminude are barred from touching—or being touched by—patrons of a sexually-oriented business unless they’re an immediate family member.”
Depends who challenges her and how much these kinds of attacks could weaken her. I agree her losing would still be unlikely, but incumbency in a purple state is rarely invulnerable, especially for a politician that tries to walk a tightrope like Collins does.
Gorsuch is not a centrist in any way. He is another Alito and Scalia and Thomas.
