Yeah, but then you get Pence.

Those amendments are always worded to trick you. We have one here in Florida: Amendment 1 that is worded to be pro solar power but it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. It’s really utility/corporate backed solar power meaning they would own and control it. So there’s been a whole campaign: Vote No On 1 with a cloud

A librarian at my university dressed as a suffragette for Halloween, and handed out information so students would know where to register to vote. It was amazing.

Not that I would go too far defending U.S. voting but it isn’t uniformly terrible across the country. I voted just now in Florida and it took about five minutes with lots of smiling people chatting quietly running the polls.

I got up and walked a block and a half down to the Baptist Church where my area votes. There were maybe 20 people ahead of me in line at 6:45 in the morning. I live in a predominantly black, working-class area so I suspect most people will be voting after work though line had grown to about 50 when I left.

My husband and I early voted in Raleigh, NC. The line on the first Sunday of early voting was 2 hours on average. A good chunk of that was due to the fact that we had less early voting sites overall, and most of them didn’t open until a week or two later. There’s been a lot of voter suppression and disenfranchisement

I woke up in Columbus, Ohio at 6 a.m., slapped on my “The Future is Female” sweatshirt, and headed to my polling place at about 6:35. The line was already outside the building. I waited for about 20 minutes, and got to an electronic voting machine. I got on page 3 of 8, when my machine started acting up. The touch

I voted today with my 2 year old daughter. The voting place is at a school around the corner from our house. So, we walked there and she chatted away, as little girls do. I realize that to her it was just a nice, little walk with Mama. But for me, it was a walk that a lot of women didn’t get to ever make in our

If it makes you feel better, houses like that are barely better than sound stages and start falling apart within weeks of being occupied.

Oh my god I love that aspect of Tiny House Hunters..’It’s just so small’... YES IT IS TOO SMALL THAT’S THE WHOLE POINT a family of four in a shoebox is probably a bad idea. It’s wonderful

The only thing amazing here is that the editorially conservative Wall Street Journal is publishing something semi-harmful to a Republican presidential candidate.

I’m still bitter E! canceled The Soup. It was their best show by miles.

Engineer broccoli to be 80% bacon! Call it the broccbac. Then pile it up.

Yes! This is my approach to veganism: be a normal, reasonable person who eats good recognizable food and gets along with other people. I don’t try to recruit, yet have had a good number of friends become vegan, vegetarian, or eat less meat after seeing that veganism is doable without the dogma or extrene diets.

I thought he was Canadian. He always talked like he lived in some remote village far, far away from human contact or cable. His town has 55,000 people living there. I grew up in a smaller city!

I literally can’t even finish reading this article because it makes me so mad. These fucking idiots (suggesting a girl could have lived if she ate raw vegan instead of going through chemo?!) make me so mad, and make me ashamed to be vegetarian-bordering-on-vegan. It’s so annoying being part of a community whose

They only stay around if you keep feeding them. I tend to lure them into a trap, then take them in for their shots and a neutering, then set them loose again miles from where I live.

That’s the kind of lame joke my dad would make, but not to be mean, just to have a laugh at his kid’s expense. He’d lose a friend but he’d never miss an opportunity to make a joke.
