I love how 10-15 years ago all the naysayers were insufferable with their “Having both gas and electric motor is going to mean twice the trouble — I’ll never buy a hybrid” and “the batteries are going to cost $15,ooo to replace and you’ll be doing that after 5 or 6 years... you’ll have to be a moron to buy a hybrid.”

That poor 280z... looks like terminal stage 4 rust; it seems to be on every body panel. Considering what it would take to bring this thing back to glory, you might as well go ahead and spend 4-5X the money upfront and get a really clean one.

This strikes me as the kind of thing you go out into the garage and build over the course of a few years when you just can’t bear the idea of sitting on the couch and streaming Gilmore Girls reruns with your wife. But other than for that save-your-sanity value, there’s no way you’re ever going to see more than pennies

I certainly hope all those that were injured have a full and speedy recovery, but I can’t help chuckle at the irony of being in a car, getting hit by a plane, and then being airlifted to the hospital...

It seems like a lot of money, but let’s be real — it is a vehicle that’s at the top of its class and it’s not priced any more insanely than a lot of cars, like 911s, higher-edition Boxters, big BMW SUVS, G-Wagons, S-class Benzes, etc. Heck, even the top-end Grand Wagoner starts at $115K.

I’d say Buick Envista or Honda CR-V/HR-V. Something with a smaller footprint for easier parking, higher seating for good visibility, and room/space for going out with friends or going on weekend trips out of the metro area.

Trump has tried his best pretended to distance himself from Project 2025...”

Man, that design looked just about perfect. Damn shame the world never got to see it.

My first thought was “no way”, but that thing is clean and obviously well cared for. I’d say it’s going to be as good as or better than anything else you buy for $5000 or so, so as long as you don’t lose sleep over a possible big-ticket repair at some point I say go for it, keep up with the maintenance, and enjoy this

Funny thing is that I’d see that plate and not even give it a second thought — I wonder what percentage of the population (like me) has no idea what that nod to fandom even means? 95%? 98%?

Hell, he’ll have doubled his money during the 3 year wait, so it’s not like there’s a bitter pill to swallow here.

This car is the genuine thing — not only will it make you look like an idiot driving it, you’d BE an actual idiot to pay that kind of money for it. So if you’re all about “keeping it real,” go for it. But for everyone else, ND.

Even that’s not enough. How often have you reacted to something behind the wheel after feeling something like a gust of wind, a shake from the tire hitting something, or just eased off the gas because you subconsciously noticed that guy 400 yards up starting to weave a little to saw that car on the shoulder flash its

First gear: so, do I have this right? A presumably huge room full of low-paid staffers/remote drivers that are expected to pay super-close attention to everything going on around a car by watching screens and listening for warming beeps? Notwithstanding the possibility that they’re going to be chatting with the

I’m looking forward to Rivian’s smaller models, particularly the R3. If this thing nails it on range and cost I’m going to be mighty intrigued.

Well, I guess if this country is ever going to “eat the rich”, perhaps one day we'll look back on this and see it as the appetizer.

Nah, that stuff is easy. See my other post.

Well, I suspect most of that would be pretty easy to figure out. The guy was in town for the company’s investor conference, so he know the date and all the info is public knowledge. A phishing call to the guy’s assistant would probably revel the hotel and maybe even room number (“Hi, this is Joe Blow, my boss, the

I’m going NP because this thing is super clean and the mileage works out to about 5,700 miles a year — Cleary this thing had a pretty gentle life. I have no idea what KBB and other guides suggest as a price, but here I think condition trumps a lot of the other factors. If you want this, you want this.

I agree; if you’re buying this you better plan on owning and enjoying it forever. Because once you pass 200K miles this thing’s going to be largely unsellable (just because 99% people see cars are worn out at that price) or you’re going to have an expensive repair that will invoke the fix it or dump it money-loss
