If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

I gotta go with Subaru, mainly because of their endearing dog commercials. Ironically the ads are memorable and the kinds of things that people share/talk about, but the Subaru brand itself still feels too far out of the mainstream for so many possible consumers to actually buy. I think a lot of the population thinks

That’s pretty crazy, but certainly wildly-random enough of a thing that I don’t need to add it to my list of potentially-crippling fears and anxieties. We have enough to worry about with Trump’s cabinet pics.

Ok, this is just cringey in its abuse of animals. I get that they’re a commodity and we eat millions of them every day, but still.

It’s utterly breathtaking how the GOP and all its supporters are content to look the other way on criminal behavior, campaign finance violations, access to voting, nepotism, outright graft and corruption, conflicts of interest, lack of morals, anti-democratic ideals, etc.

I think the price is a bit high and the styling seems quite dated, but on the flip side it’s a nice, clean, excuse-free truck, so I’m going to give it a NP anyway. I mean, it’s got a V8, it’s a very usable size for a pick-up (not too small, not too gargantuan) and I’m sure anyone could get an easy 10 years of use out

People are smarter and more rational now.  /s

I would love to have been in the room when whoever did this came up with the idea.

Is there a human alive that has Renault R5 Turbo owning friends?

I was thinking a Volvo V70 Convertible or Saab 9-3 Vert would be a good solution, too.

Man, who peed in your Cheerios today? All I’m saying is that you can buy a comparable — or better — 20 year old domestic car for less, which makes today’s feature car seem overpriced. Anyway, sorry to have offended you by posting my thought to a forum, where people are supposed to share their, um, thoughts.

That’s a pretty diverse and bizarre wish list, so compormises are going to have to be made somewhere. With this suggestion I give short shrift to the rear seat accommodations, but overall I think it checks most of the boxes: Euro vintage style, convertible, modern amenities. And the kiddos will love it.

At first I was thinking this was a NP if it didn’t have that horrid landau top on it, but then I got to thinking that there must be a LOT of full size domestic cars of this era in reasonable shape and with reasonable mileage for $10K or less, so if you really wanted a land barge like this you could probably come to

I truly like the idea of this except the fact that you presumably lose the manual, which is the main delight of a car like the Miata. But if the kit came in at about $7000, that’s a fairly justifiable way to replace a shot motor or as an alternative to dumping a few grand into a turbo or supercharger. Not for

I’ll go on record and say this is the first and likely only time I’ll agree with Elon on something. DST is outdated and could easily be dropped.

This car ought to be perfect and spotless at that price, and even then I’m not sure there’s a lot of people that would really want to own this. Sure, it’s neat. but would you REALLY want to own it?  ND.

I was just walking past the checkout counter at a Habitat for Humanity store and I heard the woman paying say “I think once Trump is inaugurated everyone is going to feel more confidence, the housing market is going to bounce back, prices are going to go down, and with the border closed and the tariffs going we’ll be

I don’t know about that. I’d think the level of confidence to required to self-wrench on a 10 year old BWM diesel is on par with the level of confidence you’d find in someone willing to do some research, watch a few YouTube videos and swap out some parts on an EV. As you said, it’s all about assuming safe practices.

Yikes. Watching that makes me afraid to ever buy a high-end European car. Assuming that was a job well done, $10K seems like a deal for all the work involved.

Exactly. Venturing into the Antarctic on a ship with one functioning engine — especially on what amounts to a passenger-carrying joy-ride – would be gross negligence on the cruise line. They’d probably get sued out of business even if they didn’t end up stranded and needing a multi-million dollar rescue.
