Coulda swore I wrote prefer it OVER the PS4. Android autocorrect + Kinda crappiness = bad sentences.

Don’t say you prefer the PS4 ‘round these parts unless you wore your flame retardant suit. I’ve got the burns to prove it.
I have to same issue as the OP, and I’m hesitant to spend an additional $50-100 to get it to do what my Xbox and WiiU already do. The Network card is an absolute joke and the main reason I find myself playing the other two consoles much more frequently.
But ‘suiting the tone’ pretty much sums up my feelings on VII: it’s pretty damned one-note. There’s not a whole of variance, not just in the music, that when there is something different it’s jarring. See: cross-dressing Cloud, snowboarding, Cait Sith in general. VI is more broad in virtually everything.
I’m sorry, but I have to completely disagree with you in regards to music. As far as VII goes, I can only really think of the over world theme and One Winged Angel (which to me is severely overrated). The theme throughout the entire soundtrack is dark and industrial without a lot of variance. I feel that VI just…
That’s like, your opinion, man. Hence why I said “I would argue”, thereby implying an opinion. Just you saying that X and XII are great has totally changed my views!
I’m sorry, but are you trying to say that sales are all that truly matters? I’m not trying to be adversarial, but you keep talking about sales and profit. For example, here are the top 10 grossing movies of all time:
You said ‘bro’ and ‘tho’ in one post. Stop it.
I don’t do MMOs. It might be a fantastic MMO, but it’ll never be a Final Fantasy to me. That might be closeminded, BUT IT’S MY CLOSED MIND!
I feel like one statement can sum up how I took 75% of your post: Success does not equal greatness. If we’re going down that rabbit hole, than the Transformers Movies are amongst the all timers. FF-13 and the subsequent offshoots all sold well, but they are far (FAR) from reaching greatness. As you already mentioned,…
I might have agreed with you about the battle theme, but not about the overworld theme. Terra’s Theme, above, is the best (IMHO) song Uematsu ever composed and is a brilliant overworld theme.
Nowhere did I say it played like FF XIII, I said provided it DOESN’T.
Counterpoint:
.....calls out someone for being biased, uses bias in own argument.
Boom.
VI is just so dense. Every character and town has a fully fleshed story. Each character has their own musical theme which Uematsu weaved masterfully throughout. No annoying main characters, the most epic of all the stories (The World ends!), and the best villain in the series. And what has it gotten for it? A truly…
I never understood the mass appeal of VII. Maybe it was the first JRPG for people, but having played the earlier FF series, in addition to Sega’s Phantasy Star, I’ve always found it lacking.
Why does 6 seem most natural? They remade both III and IV, gave V an actual stateside release, and now they’ve skipped VI to do VII. VI is like the redheaded stepchild that is actually more talented and beautiful than its more popular siblings.
