Norway can afford to do this because it’s EXTREMELY wealthy which is ironically due to their investments in deep sea oil drilling etc.
The whole point is to incentivize as many different manufacturers as possible to get in, if it were an overall market limit, after GM, Tesla, and Nissan hit the limit, no one else will bother until much later. Now, they’re already scaled up, and it gives, say, Ford a reason to still invest in EVs.
I’ve been a photojournalist 17 years and I’ve never liked filters because they make my $1600 lens a little soft. Why spend that kind of money on glass then slap coke-bottles to the end? It seems like a waste.
Meanwhile, the real potential savior — the Chevy Volt — died a quiet death this year, despite being eligible for the same credit (which was a LOT bigger part of the purchase price and more widely available and appealing to normal people).
The whole idea of the credits is to nudge the curve over a bit to incentivize early adoption so EVs can get off the ground. They were never intended to be permanent.

I hate the Rapide, it is horrible. It looks as if someone sent a V8 Vantage to the same coach builder that stretches Lincoln MKT’s and asked for a sedan.
Then the taunting afterward.
I think most people are worried about resale on the vehicle that’s a financial stretch for them and don’t want a color that’s polarizing. Me, I buy boring colors to blend in and not catch notice of predatory tax collectors as much. Also, actual color selections are so limited that it’s unlikely the one red or one blue…
Dude out here thinking he's a punter
Eighties cars sucked too. Soooo many vacuum lines.
“Japanese and American cars were kinda shitty in the seventies.”
It’s cute how these twenty and thirty somethings get all nostalgic and romantic over those old 70s crap can cars. I lived through the horror of a new Vega that would just stop running. In the middle of the road. In January Detroit. I rode in my aunts cute little Datsun that had so many rust holes in it the heater…
Lucky the game was in Washington. If it were in Philly, the kid would’ve thrown his beer in Sudfeld’s face.

Never mind the kids...this is a great idea for ME! I find cleaning areas like counters so overwhelming but this might help me out!
