Agreed. It’s nice hearing her with a different style, and she sounds terrific. I’d be very happy to hear more like this from her.

Pretty sure they mentioned it last week when it came out.
Agree that the first two songs on Angel’s new one are terrific. Love the alternate versions of all the bonus tracks from Burn Your Fire as well. Other than those, I think How Many Disasters is low-key one of the best songs on there.
I couldn’t find that particular one by Coppice Halifax on Spotify, but your description was intriguing. I’m listening to High Hawaiian Fog right now. Good stuff.
It’s not music, but I recently got into the Cum Town podcast and I’ve just been mainling old episodes. So freaking hilarious.
Hey, if they have another Treats in ‘em, that would be fantastic. I mean Rill Rill is perfection. But barring that, I’m cool with the branching out and changing up. It did take me a bit though. When JR came out I thought it was easily their worst album, but it finally clicked for me after seeing them for the second…
Lol. I came around on Sprained Ankle but I thought the new one suffered from diminishing returns. Or maybe I’m just not sad enough to love it at the moment. ‘Evanescence for quiet indie types’ is f’ing hilarious though.
I’ve been enjoying the debut EP from this hardcore/noise band Plaque Marks. It also got me going on a little kick listening to a bunch of other stuff in that kind of post-punk/hardcore/noise/thrash vein, some new to me, some of it classics that I revisited. In the former category, my favorite was probably Unsane’s…
Courtney rules tho.
I’m excited for the new Sleigh Bells. I think Jessica Rabbit was a really underrated (excellent, actually) album that I’ve recently come to appreciate a lot more.
Clairo is cool!
I’ve been enjoying the debut EP of this hardcore/noise punk band Plaque Marks, as well as the new EP by Helena Hauff, which is some EBM kind of stuff that I quite like. Apparently Plaque Marks will be opening for Unsane on their current tour and I will be catching that for sure.
Such a tired, inane trope, this “now’s not the time” idea. We are in the middle of primary season for Congressional elections. It’s precisely the time to argue over the direction of the party. Or, to use another analogy, if there is a grease fire in the kitchen, it is worth stopping to consider whether it’s a good…
To play Devil’s Advocate for a moment, wasn’t the Trump campaign’s alleged collusion basically doing “oppo research,” which, as the article points out, is in no ways illegal?
This song all day:
Fair enough. They do have a lot of layers to their sound. I think if they had a little more complexity in their drum patterns that their sound would interest me more.
Upvoted cause this made me laugh, but in all seriousness I do not get this comparison at all, despite seeing it everywhere.
I also honored Tom Petty by singing Free Fallin’ at karaoke on Monday despite suffering from some lingering laryngitis I came down with over the weekend. It wasn’t totally awful either, IMHO.
Really liking the Weather Station album and agree that Thirty is a definite standout.
That DA is a corrupt, loathsome failure who should face criminal investigation.
