Tom Petty - Full Moon Fever (et al)

This is cool. I haven’t listened to RTJ all that much but they sounded good when I saw them at Meadows a few weeks back. Already have my ticket to see Lorde in March so now I’m that much more excited.

Well I think this album is just terrific. Totally agree about the expressiveness of her voice. She sounds great. And the hooks on the title track are so good that I really don’t care if the lyrics are a bit cliche (which I suppose is fair enough to point out). It’s still one of the best songs of the year. A-

I’m not really familiar with any of her past work but just gave the new one a listen and really enjoyed it. Great stuff!

Sleigh Bells - Jessica Rabbit (very underrated album, IMO)

I’ve said it elsewhere around these parts, but to me they are like the platonic ideal of a noise-punk band. Very excited for this one.

Okovi is great. I think I still like Stridulum and The Spoils a little better, but I can certainly see how others would find this to be her best work. Wiseblood is freakin awesome. Lyrically it’s definitely my favorite, but the drums and production on Exhumed might make that one my favorite overall.
