No doubt, 100% agree with what you just said. Trying to forcibly foster democracy abroad is a fools errand. However I believe that containing larger aggressive peer competitors should remain a priority.

I disagree, Europe lacks several critical military capabilities which have been highlighted by recent conflicts. The US had to provide the bulk of the strategic transport capabilities to France for their incursion into Mali. A better example was the EU's was inability to support their operations in Libya due

I disagree with you there. I strongly believe that like minded democratic states should band together to balance against authoritarian peer competitors.

I believe the USS John F Kennedy is in mothballs in Philadelphia right now...

I agree with you given the current geo-political climate. If it were up to me we'd be selling them a lot more of our mothballed navy ships.

This is long overdue in both Europe and Japan, WWII hell even the cold war ended a long time ago. Time for them to carry their own weight to ensure global piece and deterrence.

Every car I've owned with power windows has had issues with the mechanism (5 vehicles). None of the hand crank ones I've owned did (3 vehicles). Albeit not the largest sample size in the world but I'm going to disagree with you on this one.

I'd maybe worry about that in a compact car or midsize car, but I don't plan on ever driving one of those.

I prefer my grand marquis interior

Not a true bench seat. Its just two buckets with some cloth between them. I agree its better than nothing though.

I would much prefer metal dash boards. That's what seatbelts are for.

It was actually mostly the foreign brands that lobbied for the laws. See when they were in super high demand here and they had limited production and distribution in the states people started importing them from overseas. This didn't go over well, and now we have the 25 year ban.

Sorry should have been more specific, GM had done a lot of R&D pre-bankruptcy on a 4.5L diesel, but that program got the axed as part of the reorganization.

This drives me up a wall. I spent a long time finding a crew cab Silverado made in the USA (they still smake a small percentage of them in Flint MI). Most dealers looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wouldn't take any Silverado with a VIN starting with a 3.

I'm just glad someone is going after the half ton diesel performance market. I still think there is more room for growth in the performance market than in the 3.0L economy market that Dodge, er I mean Ram, is going after. Hopefully this prompts GM to dust of the mini duramax.

Watching those C-17s take off and land is quite beautiful.

Doug, don't go pansy and get a Humvee, get a full blown deuce.

best part is that engine can run on used motor oil. There would be a lot of that sitting around

haha got a good laugh out of that comment. So true.

Perhaps I'll agree with you after I do my first LS swap. Until then I don't find them unoriginal or uninspired.
