Can't wait for this....
Although, why have any arbitrary deadline at all?
truth! forgot about that part
This is dumb as hell. Bring back old people doing burn outs!
If the U.S. gov had any stones they'd prevent certification and demand china come into the 21st century and comply with basic free trade laws.
I prefer my pickup trucks made in America.
Is there an elevator in the forward hanger? Also would the accommodation barge just be moored alongside the ship or is it a module that fits under the flight deck?
Sure hope you are right. I think the federal fuel economy standards will increasingly force OEMs to push the automatics.
Do you drive for a fleet?
Am I the only one who doesn't think the collection is so bad? I mean yeah there are some bad paint jobs, but I love the vehicle selection.
Agreed with all the disadvantages listed. I've heard that in the big fleets the young guys won't touch a manual and the old guys won't touch a automatic. Also agree that the owner operators won't ever adopt them, but the fleets are all moving over to them. They deliver much more consistent fuel economy numbers…
It has to do with federal length regulations. Cab overs use to be popular in the states up until the 80's/90's. In the 1982 highway bill, the way trucks were regulated changed. Instead of limiting the length of the tractor and the trailer, the '82 bill simply limited the length of the trailer(s) to 53'. With…
Same thing is happening in the U.S. although I think they probably still retain about 1/3-1/4 market share. They are all but dead in vocational trucks and only being installed on over the road rigs. Its only a matter of time until they are a small niche.
stunning
I think they were structural. On a pickup the bed isn't attached to the cab. On the avalanche they just lopped off the back of a suburban and needed to reinforce it somehow.
Very sad, me and my buddy dressed up as them for halloween this year. RIP you will be missed.
Hah, agree about their smugness. Currently, there are 3 ways which HD trucks get taxed. First is and excise tax when they are sold new - this is a 12% tax on the truck. Then there is a yearly tax remitted to the IRS. I believe this is about $500 for a class 8 truck. The third of course is the diesel tax. There…
Then people with diesel car's get screwed.
