For anyone interested, here’s a really great interview with Rebecca Kukla that explores a lot of the moral or political ramifications of the kind of informal policing of pregnant women’s actions this is meant to address.

Her entire catalog is amazing. She's the only person who makes me wish I could sing

Curious indeed! What could women possibly have to say that would be of interest to men?

LOL I’m honored. I love Cracked!!!

only committing to him for six weeks?

...which starts a cycle in which you develop a very unique, personal voice. One which doesn’t land you those deep profiles, or allow you to pitch an in-depth political or social essay, etc.

Hi Dan—

omg I forgot about this thread. Oh man, I stepped in a big hornet’s nest of sensitive, modestly dressed ladies, didn’t I? Look at me here, making friends ;) This is the kind of trouble I get into on kinja; people get bent out of shape over these types of important issues, and I react with mockery instead of sisterly

Absolutely. “Tell me about the time you had a harrowing experience and grew as a person” is waaaaay cheaper than “We’re embedding you with a celebrity for a week to write this deep profile about him/her”

“Beta Male” as a name for his blog is fucking terrible beyond belief awful.

Don’t worry ladies:

Ugh, seriously. I think Magnolia was the last good “intersecting lives of people in LA” movie. Aimee’s music as the soundtrack was a big part of that. And RIP PSH.

Aimeeeeeee Mannnnnnnn

I’m totally with you on everything you said about Land’s End, and I have no problem criticizing the style of other women, or of men, for that matter. I also am delighted when I see someone dressing, wearing makeup, etc in a way I find to be stylish. “The sisterhood” does not require us all to be in agreement on

Gloria is completely out of touch. Hell- she’s doing Land’s End gigs and shitting on Sanders supporters. I’m not defending that, just calling out how ridiculous this brand is.

Ignore the butthurt comments. You are totally correct; I wore Land’s End clothes my grandma bought me as a kid, and I will never recover. It was like wearing socks with sandals, but all over my body.

Sorry I made a bad joke about a brand that is so key to your identity. But instead of ignoring a joke you didn’t find funny, you’re really going out of your way to take personal umbrage about your consumer choices. If it isn’t actually clear, I couldn’t give a fuck what you wear to work, and there’s no particular

I totally got your joke and thought it was funny. We’re probably just two sarcastic & judgemental peas in a pod.

I agree, it was a joke. Third time I’ve been piled on in my years here, and I’m not surprised it was about a brand. The first time was when I shit on a popular t.v. show, the second time a popular fast food restaurant. People be emotional about their brands. People do not get nearly as riled up about politics or civil

It was super mean of me, and I’ll say it again; it doesn’t surprise me that the kind of women who buy this ugly shit are offended by women’s rights activism.
