No. insurance is not per mile.
2WD? Maybe for a car hauler but otherwise it’s not worth it.
A Root article without wild accusations of racism and hate for white people? I must be dreaming.
This is a solidly written logical article. I’d love more content like this.
You can buy a TJ for 5k, strip it down, spend 10k in mods and still have money leftover compared to one of these.
$15,499 base MSRP
It was the new water heater. It hit the fender the door and maybe the mirror. I think the total was 5-6k in damage.
Logical fallacy: Appeal to authority
Estate manager did not feel comfortable leaving the car outside over night. The plumber staged his install in the other bay the day before. Someone on his crew was moving the water heater to make room and lost control of it.
My major complaint is with the load stop. It’s simple physics. Where does the snow go? How are they preventing water from entering an freezing?
They can’t do much it’s a design limitation.
Latches do freeze, these latches are electronically controlled so you can’t apply any additional force to them. If they’re frozen…
Do you not live where it snows?
It’s going to get compacted under the load stop you won’t be able to close it or it’ll freeze shut. The tiny hinges will get frozen open or closed and now you’re dealing with even more latches.
The latches are a lubrication issue everything else is a fundamental issue with the design.
Because owners are repeat owners. You think this is the only favor they’re doing for their good customers?
Ferrari is still old Ferrari. They don’t really care.
High end dealers especially don’t report body damage. A friend had a plumber drop a water heater on his 2 month old GTC (mistakes were made all around). He got it back and sold it 6 months later. I ran the VIN out of curiosity.
Nothing reported.
Don’t EVER buy a premium car based on a carfax. You need to have the paint…
This system is not going to work worth a damn in the snow.
Ryan, you’re from Detroit. You know how the editorial staff at the Detroit News operates. Your more (classically) journalistic friends at the paper should be more than willing to advise you if you’re unsure.
No, you can’t weld aluminum like that. You’ll destroy the heat treat.
A welded joint in 6061 T6 is ~1/2 the strength of the base material
Why does every photo you included only look at the car from above?
Then yours was in some state of ill repair. It’s a 1.5 liter like any other ~1.5 of the era there’s plenty of grunt to idle around. The first gear and final drive are normal ratios there’s nothing unique going on here.
You’re telling me a CRX won’t idle around in first gear? You’re kidding me.
