Damn, I stand corrected then, that is crazy. I am friends with several and in my area they say they’ve never run into anyone knowingly trying to assault them.

There have been multiple instances of people firing on firefighters after calling 911 essentially ambushing them. Why? Who knows but it’s pretty horrific for guys who ACTUALLY protect and serve.
I woke up at 40 and thought, well, I can keep living with this rapidly spiraling-down idiot who is drinking our salaries away (among other things), spewing racist garbage, and cheating on me and accept that it’s never going to be change—but hey, I can be “not alone.” OR I can get out. I got out and my life is 1000%…
Exactly. The story didn’t pass the smell test. And they are terrible people. Countless women have had their lives ruined due to pictures or videos released by vindictive ex-boyfriends. But here you have this band who thinks their idea is just so interesting and original.
If you have to do this to get attention for your music, your music is probably shit.
CALLED IT.
Chiming in here as a medical professional who also runs a sex shop:
Nope. Not buying this story. Seems 100% publicity stunt.
I’ve never heard of them. It feels like a publicity stunt.
I remember, oddly enough, watching Robert Downey Jr.’s interview on Inside the Actor’s Studio several years ago. Lipton was asking about what he was like to work with as an actor on set, and he basically framed his response around the idea that to be unprepared or to waste time quibbling about “not feeling the…
In his latest special, Patton Oswalt mentions something called “stage health.” It’s basically the phenomenon by which a performer is able to summon enough energy to power through a show, no matter how shitty they’re feeling. I’ve had to step in front of cameras when I was a disgusting, effluvial mess and somehow…
Yeah, if this is the issue I feel for her, but she’s gotta talk to someone about better coping mechanisms. Maybe no live shows, only studio work. Maybe live shows, but only in small venues with a limited number of audience members. Maybe she needs to collaborate with other artists at her shows, so she’s not the center…
If you’ve ever hired a sitter so that you could go to a concert, then you’ll want to punch Ms. Hill. And how does the venue allow such bullshit - they’re probably paying rent-a-cops crazy overtime.
Bullshit. If she’s going through depression, I hope she gets help, and I feel for her for that. But she’s been doing this shit for years. It is ultimately disrespectful to the people who spend time and money to see her, and she needs to stop it. If she can’t tour without pulling this shit, she needs to stop touring
Ms. Hill has some pretty severe mental health issues, period. Look, anyone who says “I had to retreat to a place of safety” as an excuse for not paying income taxes for a decade has gone beyond just being an asshole and clearly is Not Right in the Head.
I took a theatre class in college where one of the students blamed a poor performance on him “just not fully feeling the moment and the character,” probably thinking that it would get him bonus points for, I dunno, aspiring to a ~deep connection~ with the material.
Girl, bologna. People who are chronically late are getting something out of it. You don’t do shit that everyone hates over and over for no reason; I think some people get off on others waiting for them. Ultimately, it’s controlling, passive-aggressive behavior.
Yea, time might balance out like that for hourly workers, but not so much for entertainers. Telling people that you did loner performances for other concertgoers isn't going to help you placate the ones who got shortchanged.
My heart goes out to you.
