because if she didn’t the media would be all over her for whenever FuckFace said anything remotely nice or patriotic

I agree, and I would like to see more solutions. How do we deal with right-wing conspiracies? So far I’ve seen very little in the way of real solutions, just a lot of finger wagging, and while I agree that Warren’s website isn’t the right way to deal with this nonsense I’m left feeling like these articles aren’t doing

By far the stupidest thing about this movie — which has its fair share of stupid things — is Pa Kent’s bullshit self-sacrifice.

I wasn’t crazy about Smallville making Clark and Lex childhood friends, because, come on, why the fuck would Lex Luthor be roughly the same age as Clark AND be from the nowhere farming town of Smallville?

Clark would spend the movie in agony over having killed Zod, and end up taking an oath that no matter how hard it is, no matter how much there didn’t seem to be any option, he would never, ever kill an enemy again.

Yeah but he was unknowingly depowered by Supes, it’s not like he was trying to commit suicide. Either way, he definitely killed Zod, after breaking every bone in his hand.

Parker Posey would’ve been a stellar Lois, one of the very very few actresses who I actually think could nail the character. It would’ve also been a wildly cool decision to have her opposite the much younger Routh, both from a general inverting the standard Hollywood age gap standpoint (the Marvel movies have actually

Not sure where you made the leap from “competent reporter” to “not a klutzy, flustered galoot”. Anyone who has read Superman from the Silver Age knows that both characterizations of Clark Kent are extremely accurate.

I don’t think it’s just that Snyder hates Superman.  He hates the very idea of heroism.  Or at least, he doesn’t understand it.

...Jesus.

My problem with killing Zod was that the movie didnt earn it. If through the fight Clark had tried other tactics, tried to steer the battle away from the city, if he was coming to the conclusion that this “sancticty of life” thing was slowly losing him the battle, if it had come down to This Is My Only Choice, and

Yeah, it’s definitely not a cold action on his part.

“It is fiction, the nature of the character has changed with every new writer that took on the character in the comic.”

You’ve actually never read a Superman comic, have you?

At best, Man of Steel is a sub-par non-cannon take on superman akin to Ultraman or Kingdom Come. Even taken as an alternate dimension asshole

Not particularly a fan of Superman or any other superhero, but I don’t think this argument holds up.

I agree that the characters change so frequently in the comics that big screen variations should get less ire.

Except these characters are “ancestors”, which implies they had coitus with opposite sex. So not exclusively gay, no.

This is in Ontario, the city in California not Ontario, the province in Canada. (unless you’re on about Canadian insurance laws because she’s actually from Canada but that’s a hell of a drive to make for a con).

“Meanwhile, The Daily Star’s story continues to be up on the paper’s site; the organization has been sued for (and settled over) libel charges a number of times over the years, but it’s still baffling that they thought they could get away with allegedly straight-up inventing an interview with one of Earth’s most

Thanks for your EVE articles. I dont think I’ll be picking it up anytime soon but I have always enjoyed news about the game as dispatches from a parallel universe.

Twitter is such a shitshow. I really wish it had gone out of business when the finances were looking weak. Humanity would be better off.
