Re KLA’s demise: Congrats to the MGO team! I worked there with you, and we all knew it was coming. I hope you got severance payouts. I hope that they actually paid you those bonuses they promised for waiting it out (I didn’t believe in them, but I still hope you guys got them.)

Really, 30k? Why do people expect games for 30k? Unless all the guy said he needed was money for marketing, 30k is just a ridiculously low amount.

Wait, wait, wait. That’s an advance bonus. The company still gets the money if it sells well and doesn’t get 85 (they just don’t get it all at once), and if it doesn’t make enough and gets an 85 on Metacritic, they’ve still got to pay off the extra million from their royalties. That actually seems pretty fair.

While it’s technically true that a refugee should take the first available place, it’s really not fair to expect the countries that border Syria to take almost all of the refugees while the rest of the world does nothing to help. Most “real” refugees can’t make it to (say) Canada. Does that really erase Canada’s

Me too. I don’t use mics unless I know everyone in the room... which generally just doesn’t happen. During some brainstorming, some of the guys on my last dev team were talking about implementing some stuff that really required mics— until I told them that I wouldn’t speak in games unless I knew the people. They

Because it’s Fallout. I wish it had done something more, since the universe would totally lend itself to some batshit things happening, but other than the skinning, it seems pretty generic to me.

Don’t take what happened at Konami (and specifically, Konami Japan, because the American studio wasn’t quite this bad— though I’d hardly say it was a great experience) as a reason to stay out of the industry entirely.

lol. So... has anyone told you about the keylogger yet?

It’s worse because Megyn Kelly is part of Fox, duh. You don’t say that about people involved in your propaganda machine...

They only just announced this? lol.

I suspect the answer is that investments are harder to come by for women and PoCs. But having never tried to get funding for a start up in the pre-monetization stage, I’m not sure...

Ahh, so no Team Fortress then? No Fat Princess, or Octodad?

Eh. I absolutely agree that it is up to the victim to decide whether or not to pursue charges with the police. But if you don’t want to claim rape to the police, I don’t see any real reason why a school should be doing the investigation. If the two investigations were equivalent, they would both be equally damaging.

C’mon guys. Although I don’t really see it being the new cool thing in North America, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_te… is totally a thing. Butter coffee isn’t too far off from that, I’m sure.

Never wear them indoors? Nope. My migraines mean I’ll wear them inside sometimes!

Wait, wait, 77? Holy crap. Now, 68 is a bit lower than I’d like and makes my fingers cold, but I’m overheating at 77 and my brain stops wanting to work. Sorry, no, I’ll keep the sweater. We can pretty much all wear more clothes to be comfortable, but there comes a point where you cannot wear less.

My university had some Windows machines. They were for first years who weren’t doing a CS major. The CS people were all expected to be on *nix machines. Emacs or vi, oh my! Or not using machines at all, because you shouldn’t need a computer for graph theory proofs or database schema design, or programming for that

I’ve never had problems with the Canadian border guards. Americans once thought my dad was changing his story when he said he was born in Britain, then in England... But are you claiming nothing on your way back? Always, always claim some amount of stuff on your way back into Canada.

On the one hand, yeah, that’s along the lines of what I was doing. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure I thought that there needed to be a revolution, and had one been happening, I’d probably have wanted to join it. (Joining up with the likes of ISIS, mind you, I’d have thought that was a cure worse than the disease.)

Well, I think it’s an inherant thought that boys are having trouble keeping up, rather than that girls shouldn’t be involved in robots. I’m not sure it should be spun quite so negatively, though I do think that girls should also be allowed to participate, even if they are more likely to keep up academically in the
